I have only sent SGC cards to PSA for crossover, two SGC 9s and one 8. All three crossed to the same grade.

Not so nice centering both front and back on that card, would expect better from a 9. And no way would I pay $30k.

So what is everyone's guesses on the winning bid for the Munson PSA 9 at PWCC? Could get real interesting if OP gets a 9 grade on his or even a 10 ;).

I am going with $27,200 if population report for 9s remains at 4 by the time of auction close

$25,500 if population report bumps another 9 this week

If you want to talk 'HIgh Rollers' talk to me.

I have submitted this card 4 times and EACH time it comes back with a disqualifier.

Is it the tilted back ?

Or the front with the completely mint gum slab stuck sooooo bad to it a Calloway wedge could not remove it. The gum slab is MINT.

Will keep sending it in in hopes of a bump from THIS !!! to at least a threeve.

  • travis ttravis t Posts: 1,185 ✭✭✭

That doesn't look mint to me. More like a Tutti Frutti.

How do you know it's Mint when you can only see the front of the gum? The back of the gum might have a big card stain on it.

He hasn't posted in this thread since January 26th and hasn't posted at all since January 29th. By him not updating the thread that he started he has inadvertently created drama in the sense that now we don't know if he's trolling everyone or not. Even a simple "order is still showing pending" or something would put all of the doubters at ease for a while.

  • handymanhandyman Posts: 5,382 ✭✭✭✭✭

Maybe the outcome wasn't that great like. Eot or min size. And fears it might devalue the card if it is ever graded by PSA or sgc later? That's my thought as to why they might not update this story.

I hope the OP and PSA have something worked out where it graded high and are waiting to release the news to the public. It's likely this isn't the case since it's public that this is a card that has been traded multiple times and probably been under review at PSA in the past, but I like to stay optimistic in these sort of situations :)

I tend to agree. But by him going MIA it didnt take long for people to start calling him "Jenny" and whatnot.

Maybe the OP was asked to refrain from participating. I could see this being a big "hush" job by all parties involved.

ummmm--I doubt it. But I do think it weak that the OP hasn't chimed in to say-- "hey I'm still waiting"

smells like an ulterior motive if I am correct on my smells

Weak? Really? Some people have real lives...family...work...school...church...volunteering...etc. give the guy a break.

It has been mentioned that the OP has visited the board everyday (through Feb 4) since his original post. He maybe very busy with the things you mentioned but from experience once you are logged onto the board it takes less than 30 seconds to post "still waiting on results, guys." I went back to re-read all of the posts and unless I'm missing something one person mentioned "being Jenny'd" (and IMO a very fair post to just bring up the possibility) & a second person responded with a joke. Also, I think the drama that has been referred to is the waiting for him to post part creates the drama not that he is not posting to create drama. I don't see anyone being over the top and I don't think anyone needs to give anyone a break. We all should be allowed to post our opinions without being called to task.

Congratulations! Great to see the SGC cross was equivalent. I have had good luck w/ SGC being equal to PSA in crossovers as well. I think on vintage, more often than not, the grade might be similar and it is the sales price of that grade that is where the difference may be. To my experience, I'd consider it a win to get a BVG within one half grade of PSA as more often than not I see them a full grade or more lower.

On the Maris...it has a vending curl to it. A high end 8.5...colored corners are green to the tip.

Very minor chipping along small part of bottom edge(barely visible to the naked eye...kept it out of a 9 holder. Centering is 50/50 measured with 1/100th scaled ruler.

Great to hear you got a 9 on the Rose. I have cracked SGC 9 (not near the value as the rose) and submitted to get a PSA 9 so that one did not surprise me. 8.5 for the Maris is pretty solid as well. Congrats.

It might have been traded and sent in for review but has it ever been cracked out and sent in for grading?

i bet mop has already known the grades (for days) and is simply toying with you guys and watching it all go down.

    1. start crack out thread...

    2. converse while shipped and psa is processing...

    3. log into the cu site each day...

    4. go radio silent for a few days but most definitely make sure to log on to the cu forum each day for added speculation...

    5. release partial grades...

    6. leave everybody munson'd again for a few days or so...

    7. but definitely log back in to the cu forum each day but post nothing to leave another digital footprint and fuel the jenny fire just a lil more...

    8. hold for the monsoon/munson..

    9. release the cracken!?!?!

and if anyone should be posting popcorn girl, it should be him

I was of the impression that the pop report has been checked each day. So if the Munson is not the 6.5 it has not yet popped.

Or the Authentic graded one that popped the day after. But at least PSA took his other cards seriously. That is a good overall sign for the Munson if it is somehow being examined still, and yet to pop.
