Hey Dan, any plans for another run of the Thomas Elder store card overstrikes?
Probably not in silver or copper like the ones I already did. Maybe another metal.
I also have access to the original Delorey-84 reverse die, so I might issue something using that.

My vote for another metal would be gilt brass like the primary originals.
It may also be interesting to pair the original dies with an obverse with Farran Zerbe since the original dies were satires of his pieces.

Yes.
It would be quite a project to shoot ALL your Carr pieces however this 2500x2500 format is just great for fine detail.
Do you have (hopefully yes) more done this way? Are they posted somewhere? I seem to remember you posting some here in the forum. They would make a wonderful book.

This arrived today. Carr’s 1919 Peace dollar overstrike. High relief, high grade with broken sword reverse.
I need one of those... Just got my Gold Winged Liberty in .999.... Gorgeous, a couple small spots on the edge but no blemishes, hopefully Anacs knows the difference.
Line 1...sent the best one I had (before I knew they were giving 70s for O/S pieces).
Line 2...this 70 gives me a complete 70 set in brass and silver, 1906,1933 and 1934.
Line 3... very nice 69.
Line 4...what can I say, looked 2 years for this one.
Line 5...this is the copper/brass piece I was so lucky to get.
Photos asap next week, they shipped today.
Hats off to ANACS, they turned this submission in 2 weeks.
If that grader was here I'd buy 'em a beer and give 'em a hug....
And hats off to Dan for making some mighty fine tokens...

I’ve only bought the silver dollar overstrikes thus far. They fit into a prime collecting interest of mine.
Wow, that means mintage is 17 for the two coppers, and 18 for the two silvers.
This means that I've cornered 11.8% of the Thomas Elder overstrike copper market. I'm about to maximize my leverage like the Hunt brothers.
I was on the fence with these at first and then I read Zoins thread about Elder. I thought Mr. Elder was a pretty cool guy and bought both copper pieces. Even cooler is they were o/s on Large Cents.

Well not worthless, but it is a bit frustrating to have them change their policy. Probably not going to send everything in for regrade just yet though either. Would losecall my hand signed labels.

Woo-Hoo! Received my Octagon Owl today, one early!
Have the complete set, some other items have not shipped yet.
Great to be Alive as well, had the Widow Maker Saturday, a bit of heart problems, cath test less than a year ago was perfect, Cholesterol is low, 6', 185 pounds, great diet, exercise a lot, etc.
Was shocked when I was informed of 95% blockage of LAD, no damage to heart.
Wisely called 911 instead of applying heat rub to chest and shoulder blades, 20 minutes after calling 911 was in cath lab and received 2 stents, in hospital 2 days, took a nice Harley ride as soon as I got home, medical tech is AMAZING!
Is an inherited condition.
Bottom line, if you don't feel well and have even a mild chest pain, Please call 911!
Typical hard headed man, figured I'd take a nap, wake up, and feel better, I would never have awakened.
I feel SO GOOD, got the carburetor jets upped a size and 100% fuel flow now!
@Will1960 dang, you got a new lease on life, a .999 silver sculpture, and you got to enjoy the open roads in spring all in a few days! Glad to hear you’re okay and life is good.
Still waiting patiently on my order. In my case I ordered the silver bar with the wizard, which I might resell, but I wanted to see that energy-rays motif that’s on other works from Dan. (Like the Tesla medals, which I have, and that Firefly piece, which I don’t.)

Will1960, I wholeheartedly agree. Don't ignore chest pains!!!
3 years ago I was diagnosed with 80-90% LAD blockage. No other issues, likely inherited and probably killed my Grandfather in the 1960's.
Big improvement after stent! On my daily brisk walk, no more shortness of breath. And no exertional angina doing yardwork.
Downside? I hated the blood thinner meds. Easily bruised. And risk of internal bleeding if you're seriously injured. So I'd skip the Harley until you're off the blood thinner. In the meantime, for superficial bleeding I used a liquid bandage... really stings, but better than a small fabric bandage for long scrapes I'd get doing yardwork.

Yes.
To check that the holder's depth (5.49mm) is sufficient, I kept it open less than a fingernail's width... the medal rattled a bit. Then I closed the holder; no rattle, and it closed & sealed completely.
"Fits like a glove" but no depth to spare.

I'd send at least 10 large dan carr pieces to anacs if they would slab them.
I was told that they would only slab the large 5 oz. state quarters, but not anything of different size because they don't have different size gaskets for their large holders.
