Current bid is up to $300. I'm out but I'll watch the last 10 minutes.

  • KudbegudKudbegud Posts: 4,735 ✭✭✭✭✭

It sold for $381.56. I hope a forum member got it.

It looks like a nice piece. I hope someone here got it too!

I wonder how many of these exist. At first, I was thinking 1 but I’m curious now since @1940coupe said he has one and there are multiples of others.

According to Dan's Production Blog, of the 108 canceled die Morgans, only "12 were double-over-struck with lateral shift between strikes."

Successful BST transactions with forum members thebigeng, SPalladino, Zoidmeister, coin22lover, coinsarefun, jwitten, CommemKing.

Thanks @COCollector! I should check it more for these double strikes. I normally only check for the regular strikes.

Here is one I tucked away in my Daniel Carr overflow box. Don’t even know what year it is but it’s up front. After a while they all become part of the box/Collection/Safe. Once I read the post I had to think back and wonder If I had one, but found an old picture on my phone.

Dang, that is a very impressive front row Gluggo, that Merlin is strong.

We all ought to post our favorites until Dan starts shipping the new orders.

I heard that ANACS gave a 70 grade to a 1919 BS Peace Dollar O/S...yee ha.

  • AkbeezAkbeez Posts: 2,694 ✭✭✭✭✭

My Churchill doesn't have a COA either, but I didn't get it direct from the KOTCT.

So ANACS gave in to the the 70 issue on O/S? Just got notice that ICG is having specials for April.

I don't think they gave in on it. I still have not seen any o/s coins get a 70.

I had to ask myself, "what would I do with a 3 oz. silver, high relief coin designed by Daniel Carr that showcases his continuing expertise and talent for enhancing many of our classic coin designs?"

There's really no need for justification when it comes to nice stuff. :)

Agreed. I just ordered the saint. Octagon soon very soon. Heads up to @Downtown1974

I just received an ebay buy, 2009 Proof Eagle O/S.... It is flawless and I am afraid to take it out of the flip. It should go PF70 Ultra Deep Mirror Proof-Like. Its the Walking liberty half reverse, just gorgeous.

What’s the material/method of the KOTCT piece at the upper right? Also curious about the unlabeled one at bottom. Also, if I had to pick a fave... I don’t know if I could. ;)

The upper right piece is a one ounce silver medal struck on an irregular cob.
The bottom medal with no flip label is the Churchill overstrike nickel/copper.
Hard to pick a favorite for me as well. Probably the 2 ounce toned silver cob.

I bet the 67 was a Bulk Handled piece.

Now that they give 70s for O/S pieces I wonder how many O/S 69s will be resubmitted?
I got to go check some of mine... B)

i have one just like it so i dont want to see it sell cheap at this time this is your best investment of all of DC new items !

How do you think it did at $381.56? Is that about what you expected, high, or low?

I don't know what these go for so I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

I think I got the last of Thomas Elder store card, struck on a US Large Cent with vintage die from Delorey-71 (obv & rev)
After my order I went back to get details for my spread sheet inventory and it said "Out Of Stock"

Good to know. I hope he makes some more.

I've also been thinking it would be great to make these in gilt brass like the originals.
