My 3 Ladies arrived yesterday. Thank you USPS (something UPS couldn't do).

I can't say enough good things about ANACS. I did not send them the info as to what year the host coins were. I sent copies of the front of the insert only. Either they contacted Daniel or they spent time looking at the coin for remnants of the dates and mint marks.

Wow, these are amazing! Congrats on all 70's but most importantly that they arrived home safely to you. TC

    Love it!
Dan's Astronaut on the moon obverse and soaring eagle reverse is perhaps my favorite of Dan's art.
I imagine my affinity comes from being 13yo at the time of the first moon landing, and being given a 1971 Ike (with the moon / Apollo theme reverse) by my Grandfather when they first came out.

I need help with these two 2013 Hard Times Token “ Debt Pyramid” from someone that has more experience with them. They look the same to me, and one has Dan’s certificate..... the other one doesn’t. Dan’s certificate says what it is, but stamped diagonally in copper colored print it says “Color Toned”‼️‼️My problem is that in Dan Carrs mintages catalog it doesn’t mention about any Color Toned being minted‼️⁉️
I’m pretty sure the person said that there were only 13 of these that Dan did, and I think I bought it from a follow member in my KOTCT club so I believe him.
So please let me know if anyone can verify the mintage, and if the one I have without Dan’s certificate is the same ,and should I bother Dan about getting a new certificate for the one that doesn’t have a certificate ⁉️
    Thanks,
    Nick

Another question on this 2014 Prospector/Eagle 1/20 troy ounce silver..... the certificate says it’s.... medal turn orientation
    Satin finish. Reeded
    edge

The problem is that this piece appears to be proof like.... but it is medal turn orientation reeded edge‼️
Were these all medal turn ⁉️⁉️
Looks like I might have the wrong certificate.
    Thanks,
    Nick

I think all with reeded edge that year had medal-turn orientation.

Smooth edge could come either way since those were struck by Dave Emslie on his small press.

For some issues I did not fully record how many had post-strike finishes. If it was offered that way as a separate product then I would record and post the mintage of that variant. But in this case there was no separate "color-toned" product offered and so I don't know the quantity that was processed that way. The one on the right looks definitely like how I would do it. The one on the left I'm not sure from the pictures if I toned it. It is possible that someone else toned it, or possibly it was a "failed" color-toning attempt by me and, as such, would be considered a "factory second". Such things were sometimes sold locally at a discount and without a certificate.

If you leave those rubber bands on those flips eventually the end coins will be marked with a stripe where the rubber band was.

I’m guessing those are all empty flips and he moved the coins into his own slabs.

Yeah, I lay them out in an Excel spreadsheet and print them on full sheet label stock. I have a color laser printer that creates really sharp images.

Using a faint gray border between spreadsheet cells and a full sheet paper cutter helps.

    Zoid,

The DC items seem like a large collection. Focused and with purpose. I don’t see a problem.

That said, I wouldn’t show this group a picture of all your non DC exonumia flips. You might get a different answer.

I've sold 11 DC overstrikes this past month on the 'bay. Nine were raw, two were graded. All auctions began at 99 cents, 10-day, had some pleasant surprises. If you're interested in the results, PM me.

Hey thanks again for posting this,

I initially ordered 1 piece when these first went on sale and got one of the first ones which looks lovely.

Dan said he had sand blasted the die a bit further after producing some so when you posted I jumped and got a second one. Next time I am close to them, ill take some pics together for compare/contrast.

There were a few Carrs that I sent out to ANACS recently, they got there last Monday and the grades were posted Friday. I choose to get the Gold imaged through their service and picked registered mail as a return shipping service.

    Six coins - all 69s and 70s split down the middle 3 & 3.
Very pleased with the results and will share some pics when they are in hand.

    Just to add,

I think that ANACS is the premier grading service for anything Daniel Carr.
They have obviously seen and encapsulated much of his work, so their experience outclasses any other TPG that may slab "one or two" of Dan's work.

Honorable Mention to ICG for slabbing the breadth of Moonlight mint items, but alas I have no experience with them... yet. There are some smaller diameter pieces in my collection that would look good in their tinier slab that I may send out soon and will report back.

It has gotten very quiet here. Some of the people that post a lot have gone away. No new things posted in a while. All the way back into May to see new things. Where has everyone gone? Summer break? I hope DC puts some new items up for sale soon.......
