This is the first time that registered mail has been an issue for me. It appears to be stuck. I keep getting late night texts that it is in route and will be late.
It is kind of strange though. The package got to my city on 12/4. Since then about this time every night (just got the text) I get a text that says in route, arriving late. Tracking says it’s here in my city. Are they driving it around showing everyone DCarrs creation?

If not too inconvenient I suggest you go to your local post office and tell them that the show is over, you want your package.
(Sometimes registered mail ends up sitting in the post office vault waiting for someone to come sign for it).

That is exactly what happened to me. I called the registered cage and he confirmed he had it in his hands, The postal manager suggested he was lying. I wondered why he would lie about that and invited the manager to check. He had to walk 200 yards across the plant.... retrieved my Carr Parcel and then apologized. It seems only certain people can handle certified pieces and they must sign a custody form. so it often sits waiting.
.
This is one of those Daniel Carr unicorns and a real headscratcher . . . . .
Last week I was fortunate to have found and picked up one of Dan's 1805 Draped Bust over-strikes in high-grade condition. It was a long and arduous search, which is weird given the production numbers.
Population figures for the circulated examples are just 72 pieces. Populations for the high-grade are 171 pieces, almost 2.5 times the quantity available. Both originally sold for the same price.
However when searching for one of the high-grade pieces, I saw 3 times the number of circulated examples available than the high-grade.
Well, I grabbed the circulated first, which I was ecstatic about given the low mintage numbers, and just last week, this one came up on my radar at a price I could afford.
I couldn't resist . . . . .
I just couldn't rest until I had the pair . . . . . . .
And then this one. This thing is hammered @dcarr . LIBERTY is full. This coin is amazing in hand. The old 1875 date is there and what is really cool is the S mint mark shows (so the CAL gold was used). Daniel, your work is outstanding. I can't wait to see what 2022 brings.

@ZoidMeister - all of those KOCT issues are beautiful, but to my eyes, the non-perfectly-round 2018 with toning and starburst effect on the obverse is a stunningly beautiful piece or art! Thank you for sharing the images.

Here is yet another DE o/s, just back from the “mmint”. She was a bit banged up as you can see, and I bought it for a whopping $425 in 2012! — woohoo! I wondered how they would grade the canceled die coins. My order should be wrapping up by the end of the week. I am hoping they get all the types of host coins correct.
Now my ANACS grades are in. Interesting how a couple were attributed to a specific date. I will have to look closer at the two that have dates and see if that shows in the shadows. I didn't see 1896 prior to sending.

Both of my Oregon Trails got 70s.

The one 58 was the Pop 5 1884-S O/S on uncleaned Morgan. The other 58 was the Antiqued Centennial piece. I was hoping for a 70 on the Brass and Copper but oh well. These are good.

I believe PCGS is grading coins that were listed in the Krause Publications, which included some early Daniel Carr pieces as well as some of the 1964-D Peace Dollars
I hear you have to reference the Krause number that is assigned to individual coins when submitting to PCGS.
I want to say the 5th or 6th publications were the last issues so anything newer than that coming from the moonlight mint isn’t being slabbed by our host at this time.
.
I ran across a few interesting listings on fleaBay this morning. A seller had posted a few "certified" hobo nickel tokens. Each of the slabs pictured below has at least on "attribution error." Can you tell what they might be?
BTW: these errors were not made by this forums sponsor.

Somehow, it was managed! Here's a close up of the reverse showing Monticello.
It says "ES" on the reverse, so unless Dan was working out of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, this must have been done by someone else
I do believe if PCGS started to slab all Daniel Carr medals from his catalog, they would make a ton of cash.
And a bigger market for such items would be enjoyed by many new collectors.
I'm not a fan of all the fantasy dates of US coins and such, but in my opinion, his original pieces should at least be slabbed.

Hey @LukeMarshall, I can take all the stuff off your hands that came inside the envelopes. Might as well do a deep clean while you are at it. Think of all the room you would get back.
I did make some of the OHNS annual tokens. But none of those shown are ones that I made. I produced them for OHNS from 2013 through 2018. Those that I made are shown at the bottom of this page: moonlightmint.com/dc-coin_medals_club_A.htm .
Of those six years that I minted, the designs that were my own are: locomotive (2014 reverse, 2017 reverse); coal car (2016 reverse); standing Bison (2018 reverse).

I left the fact that it's a GMM item for someone else to find but it's early on a Sunday and most people are still sleeping.

Best Daniel Carr listing I've seen on fleaBay yet . . .

Here I was cleaning up old mailers yesterday and thought of you zoidmeister when I ran across a Carr mailer with stamps all over it.
I remember you saying you collect these so how about a true Christmas special?
PM me a good address and it’s yours…

It's all about what the people want...
Oh,
I also noticed that the hobo nickels were Gallery Mint items slabbed as being Moonlight mint produced.
Does anyone have a picture of an ANACs slab with a correct label for the GMM Hobo Tokens? Do they normally slab them?
Thanks

.
I sent those images to Ron Landis. He got a kick out of them.
Said he's seen lots of other stuff not made by GMM get attributed to him, but this is the first time he's seen his work attributed to someone else.

Hey @LukeMarshall, I can take all the stuff off your hands that came inside the envelopes. Might as well do a deep clean while you are at it. Think of all the room you would get back.

lol. "it has lots of stamps on it."
I did make some of the OHNS annual tokens. But none of those shown are ones that I made. I produced them for OHNS from 2013 through 2018. Those that I made are shown at the bottom of this page: moonlightmint.com/dc-coin_medals_club_A.htm .
Of those six years that I minted, the designs that were my own are: locomotive (2014 reverse, 2017 reverse); coal car (2016 reverse); standing Bison (2018 reverse).
.
No, but I did send mine to ICG
