PS I think it would be more fun to see what Daniel can come up with a for completing a type set of his version.
So far I like it and will be working silently to find an 1804 os dollar.

I am fully aware maybe one sick person(me) doesn’t want to be reminded of the daily things I live through ;)
I thought to clarify……..I do not have Covid rather another sickness that no one can fix.

I am tired of the Covid thing and ready for life to return back to normal……whatever that is or will be.
I personally would like to leave it behind us and get back to collecting.
I’m not making anything light of the this catastrophe, just would like to put it in the rear view window..

    Sure but:

    1. we are collecting - just collecting COVID pieces. We never left collecting!
    2. Dan doesn't make many COVID pieces, so if you want to avoid them, you can!

I've thought if Dan were to take requests, I think I'd like a type 1 1916 Standing liberty on a Double Eagle or ASE. (or even an Ike!)
That's a coin I think deserved to be larger than it was, not smaller like the bastard 2016 gold commemorative version.

@Zoins I agree, it's still a profound force in our world. I'd like one side to be a large covid molecule as the exergue with the planet earth within. Otherwise, Dan knows what he's doing, for sure. Peace Roy

That's a great idea too! It would be great to have another COVID medal and coin.

    I like this coin :)

I want that!!!! I wish I would have found his site years ago. 'So Much Cool Stuff!'

My Norse arrived today. I won't embarrass myself by including a crappy photo of the medal (which is excellent btw). Instead, take a look at the great set of Lucy stamps on my envelope:

The medal does not have any residual artifacts of the original coin while viewing without any magnification.

Successful BST: dmwjr, ike126, bajjerfan, morganman94, sonoradesertrat, 12voltman, duiguy, gsaguy, gsa1fan, martin, coinfame, zas107, bothuwui, gerard, kccoin, jtwitten, robcool, coinscoins, mountain_goat, and a few more.

I almost closed this fleabay offer.

Then I looked up production info at Moonlight Mint.

I found 700 fantasy errors produced that are exactly same:

240 is a better admission price. I actually got autodeclined on my 250, 265, 285 best offers. Then I looked up production info. Next time I will access mintage data first. I haven't bought a DC goodie in a while. This M.A.D. ,but not actually a legit M.A.D. error offering got my hopes up.
I wondered why the Reverse was fully struck, now I know.

Actually, that is not a die crack on the arm. It is the residual outline of the arm from the original host coin showing through.

My Norse arrived today. Very well done, Mr Carr. When tilting coin under light, you can see ghost remnants of the underlying Walking Liberty Half. I also seem to have inadvertently started a shipping envelope collection.

Other silver eagles, and on the larger format - I would have thought them more difficult than a smaller module like the half.`

I spend a lot of time searching DCs online record of mint output. There are a few items I hope to see in person some day. A 2.5 oz gold token like this is one of them. There are also a few rectangular shaped silver bars that look really cool online.

There are certainly a lot of rare and wonderful things Dan's created over the years!

I just got back from the annual So-Called Dollar Fellowship and I was able to see very rare and high condition pieces that I would normally never get a chance to see.

Are your double eagle overstrikes shipping? I think mine was the last to send in ~~ have not gotten any shipping notice yet.

    All have been shipped.
The shipping email notifications are sent automatically when I mark the order as "shipped" in the store's database.
But if it was a mailed-in order (payment by check with host coin), then there is no order in the store's database to mark as "shipped". In some cases I might not even have or know the buyer's email address.

Would it be possible to have the USPS Tracking number added to the ship notice when the order ships? I don't know if that could be set-up to be automatic so it doesn't cost you a lot of time to do it manually?

If I was using shipping labels, there might be a way to do that (with some effort to set it up).
But most of the time I am using up bunches of older stamps (that don't work with shipping labels). And so I would have to look up, and then manually enter into the database, every tracking number.

Expensive shipments are always sent via Registered mail, so there is always a trail to follow (if necessary).

It would be great to have a Dan Carr Club or something similar where people can get together and share their rare Moonlight Mint items!

I have this piece which says DCC on the obverse. I like to think of it standing for "Dan Carr Club" but it really stands for "Denver Coin Club".

Those double eagle overstrikes are beautiful. I had every intention of buying an 1848 cal, but finances being what they were, I couldn't get the host coin before he ended production.
The next historical overstrike he decides to make, I'm in.

Okay! Let's move this along, for the same, do we like "Dan Carr Club" or "Moonlight Mint Club"? :)

I am probably leaning towards DCC since almost every token/coin I own has an Dan Carr ANACS label.

PS. For those wondering, still no word from ANACS about the 9 stolen items. Last contact was 1/4/2022. UPS was still investigating the theft (Holiday delays). No reply to 1/11/2022 email.

    Sounds good!

So who wants to be a charter member of the Dan Carr Club? :)

Of course, we need to ask Dan @dcarr if he's okay with the club and name!

If we get a chance at a yearly commissioned Dan Carr Club piece then I’m in!!

I’m actually in without the yearly piece, this thread has had so much traffic I think you could get a pretty good club going.

Those are nice. Got my first Octagon at the end of the year. No silver bars yet.

I must have missed the "5 ouncer". I really like the hologram 3 once bar above.

I now have all years except the inaugural year, 2015. Still need to hunt down one of those.

I've secured a couple of duplicates along the way as well. I picked them up for trade material.

Suffice to say I'm in awe of his abilities and resources.
