One more question. How do you all store your medals? Larger then 41 mm?
Thanks in advance

I use these from Wizary Coin Supply
Lighthouse Quadrum XL Coin Holders -- 41mm up through 58mm-- 5 packs. There like a 2.5" X 2.5" Square and about 1/4" thick. Of course they require a bigger box to store them all if you dont have them slabbed.
In fact I just put a order in for 5 different large sizes just to keep my stock well supplied! When I read your post I. went to my account and realized I failed to finalize yesterday’s order so I added a few more and finished the order. Thank you for posing the question I might of never caught it. I really like the smaller 2 X 2 ‘s for all the other smaller non slabbed coins/tokens ect. What is nice about this brand is that the inside foam is a soft expandable fabric just in case it’s a bit tight it will stretch to fit.
Given that Dan has the designs for the 1805 Draped Bust Dollar, what do people think of a 1834 or 1835 Draped Bust Dollar given that the order to the Mint was made in 1834 and the coins delivered to Edmund Roberts in 1835?
Sorry it took so long to get the photos but my Man Servant Julio was caught hanging out down by the school yard when Rosie The Queen of Corona came by and Julio has been put in a two week quarantine so I had to take my own crummy photos. https://youtu.be/f60wogLOUWY
As you can see I slip the COA and the original Dan Carr 2 x 2's inside the self-seal bag and it fits perfectly. This way I don't misplace the COA's and I know what cert goes with what coin. If you have a bunch of COA;s seperated from the coins with all the different metals and finishes it can be very time consuming trying to sort them out.
The self-seal bags can be opened and closed many times and the only time that I have had to replace one is if I rip it accidentially.
BTW,,,, none of these coins are dark or toned or spotted,,,,, Julio took the lighting set-up home with him.
I have several of his silver eagles but I set-up my acetone assembly line at home ,,,,,,, which nobody wants to support and treat my silver coins before submitting to any of the BIG three mentioned above or even if just storing them ungraded.. So far many years later NO SPOTS!!!!!
I soak in acetone generally for an hour or more,,,,,, probably don't need to that long but I am OCD on little things like that and tend to over do it but soaking in acetone for a week would not hurt the coin has been my experience. OK, I have never soaked any coins over 2 hrs and then only if I got distracted.
I just think the soak before grading would greatly help the spotting problem and would give the buyer more confidence forking out BIG BUCKS for graded .999 silver coins.

I say go for it! The Draped Bust is a BEAUTIFUL Coin!!!!!
This is what I use to display the bigger tokens.
It's a coin tray from Wizard and a easel from hobby lobby, not a great photo but you should be able to get the idea.

I use 2 1/2" X 2 1/2" Mylar Saflips and a PCGS Blue Box. They fit perfect.
Thank you!

I do this too. It works with other boxes like ATS boxes as well. The nice thing about moving to the larger flips is I can move the inserts out farther away from the medal to the larger flip. I've noticed the inserts tend to cause some unattractive toning for my pieces, especially the silver ones.

OH, man. I didn't realize that these owls were produced with an antique finish. I have NEVER seen one for sale. @dcarr - have you ever considered producing these octagonal owls in copper, both regular and antiqued? I would LOVE to see these in copper as well.

Anybody got a picture of these I might want to get more?
Well I went ahead and ordered a few more just because I did not want to wait. Nothing worse that waiting and the sold out sign comes on! I did not want to take the chance!
Whatcha smokin there @gluggo? The 2020 Octagons have been sold out for a while. Did you find some on the secondary market? Or are you referring to the SS Republics?

Didn't the radical priest come to get him released? I thought I saw it on the cover of Newsweek.
Does Dan do any special treatment of the Silver Eagles before striking like acetone or dip?
I have an ovrrstruck Ike from several years ago that developed a nasty spot of something worse than a milk spot, so I am guessing they are/were not treated. That was 40% silver, though.

You are correct,,,,, that is the way it went down,,,,,,, Julio had to say goodbye to Rosie, The Queen of Corona.

Question regarding Dan's overstruck Silver Eagles.
Has anyone ever known any of these to spot?
