PCGS will have some blowback down the road .. my friend when he takes in coins for PCGS grading.. tells his customers wait time is 10 weeks.. He now takes fees up front for PCGS ....not for NGC
PCGS just signed a deal with a Chinese Mint to grade a minimum of 200,000 coins/qtr for the next 5 years. I don't think they will be hurting. One has to ask if NGC will still be relevant in 5 years. Yes, I am serious.
When I joined this thread, I had 9 submissions outstanding from 7/12-7/21. Now I only have 3 and they are all US economy. The others came in-some a little late and some early. My US economy submissions are not even due yet, so I'll just bide my time on those, since that appears to be the toughest category of coins.
2.5 months + now on my economy submission from the last Long Beach show, submitted June 10... might call this week to see if they'll just get it done and bring it to me at Long Beach which is only 9 days away... would save me the $35 or so in shipping
June 15 econ not posted yet, I called last week, and CS told me late this week should be posted. I'm keeping fingers crossed, but have doubts especially if Mikes (posted above) Jun 10 isn't done either!

Mine was submitted June 10 at the Long Beach show... but not logged in at PCGS until early the next week on June 14... so we're pretty close I hope!
I hate to hear that, As long as it has taken, they should toss in a gift or two.
I also found the grading to be on the conservative side on my July Regular and World submissions, though I haven't received my Economy submissions yet. Curious if this is a trend. Generally, I am OK with it.

And isn't it amusing how many graded New 2016 Medals are out there so quick.
And you can be certain none of those were submitted under the Express or higher tiers...
Most likely went through bulk, which is separate from the regular grading. Normally requires 100 coin minimum, but that number does not apply to all submitters and doesn't apply for all modern releases.

Good business sense dictates that you don't put $12 coins ahead of $30 coins, so bulk modern grading must be caught up.
Monday, August 29th, I sent PCGS these submissions by FedEx. Yesterday, Tuesday, August 30th, they were accepted into their system.
One Economy - four crack out ANACS inexpensive Barbers ...
One World Modern - Two Irish Silver coins : 1990 "5 €" and "10 €"
One Express - Seven Coins - all over $3,000 ea. for Regrade. One Express - Three Coins - Cross Over - all over $3,000 ea.
Two Regulars - Eleven coins on one & Thirteen coins on another - Both for Regrade
One Regular - Twelve coins - Cross over - all valued under $3,000. One Regular - Three coins - Regrade - all valued under $3,000.
The Express subs I expect mid to late September.... The Regulars due before Thanksgiving, The Economy before Christmas - the World Modern by Halloween - once these return, they're off to CAC. Those who don't CAC - they're off to Heritage for the next available auction.
Mike Hayes ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Coin collecting is not a hobby, it's an obsession !
I was thinking that the big backlogs might translate into better grades; not really so, one economy ended up all straight grading, one lightly cleaned piece graded, and a coin that CAC said had pvc., graded and sold. Then I sent an express; both coins had CAC stickers previously, one downgraded the other graded the same though it was old holder, CAC and a local long term dealer saw it as a lock upgrade. If it's in the holder don't crack....
50 days on economy and 30 days on regular!?! Absolute insanity. This deserves an explanation from PCGS. How is it that they tell us their fixing the situation when it appears to only be getting worse!

Apparently the scuttlebutt that they're fixing the problem resulted in an increase in submissions.

Grades last week were really bad. I know what I am doing and some Rattlers I cracked, really nice ones, went down. If they are hiring new (kid) graders, they are going to grade low so that they don't get in trouble. The old man who knows his stuff is on the red eye to shanghai!
In time, this too shall pass...how much time??? I would find it better to occupy my "worry-time" doing something else; removing scratches from my holders, sending a few choice coins to cac for their approval, cherry-pick a few more varieties that noone else seems to want, wash my truck in the rain,

I spoke to them to express my frustration on my orders' delays, and they said I could step them up to express and I explained the profit margins are so tight when you go to resell, that increased fees would often kill profit. Hopefully after Labor Day?
It's a proof coin graded as a Mint State. PCGS has probably graded 1,000's of these Lunar coins, regardless of size. How this passed multiple "quality control" checks is completely beyond me.

They have graded exactly 3 of that size; 2 proof and your mis-labeled proof.
They don't get many kilos but still, the smaller ones look identical and are very obviously proofs. I also put on my submission form, PROOF. There is no excuse. It's now a total of 90 days for a misattributed coin that's still not in my hands.
Now tell me, does this look like an MS coin to you??

My June 6th Economy posted today. 38 days. The grades were suspiciously conservative, making me wonder who is grading these cheap orders.

Did you mean an Economy Order from July 6th? June 6th would be a lot more than 38 days.....

Mid WHICH week?
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Calling them is a total waste of time. I feel sorry for the CSR' s because of all the heck they must hear and absorb.

Two crossovers, Regular Service. Went 'live' in the system on July 29, so today was business day number 25.
Both crossed at the same grade.
I just had 7 total days from posted to shipped on an express order (including the weekend and Trueview).
I had an express crossover received 8/18 that was shipped with TrueView 8/29.
