  • All the "Auctions" on ebay.

Just an Ex. - a well known baseball card shop on ebay ( that we ALL have bought from ) has over 11,000 BINs vs 32 actual "auctions" that can be bid on. I saw a card I wanted and was excited to bid on some more items from them. It's more like an eStore anymore. Where have all the auctions gone and where are all the.. sing it!

Man's best friend? They are a witch's best friend. You don't see dogs riding on broomsticks, do you? You see dogs solving crimes and servicing the blind. Leash a cat to to a blind person, and that cat looks for the nearest cliff. Buh bye. And don't tell me cats aren't big enough to service the blind. Plenty of fat cats in politics and business, but there are also plenty of just fat cats. They could handle servicing the blind if anyone could trust them.

Also, cats love to murder birds and mice. And the don't just dissect them with their claws--they toy with them before and during the ordeal while the poor creatures are still clinging to life.

You could say cats are the Hannibal Lecter of the Felidae family.

If you don't want cats to "murder" birds/mice it's called keep them indoors only (which the ASPCA strongly recommends). Anyway I love cats (in this case I'm talking about the furry purring kind not the kind that play basketball) because they are so warm, soft, cuddly, gentle, quiet, graceful creatures. And they just do the cutest things with their little mittens too! image And I especially love how my kitty (pictures at the link) cuddles up in my bed (both sleeping and when I'm on the computer) with me.

My cat and my best friend Jamiee who I have my wonderful wife to thank for him and for making me a, eh "crazy cat lady" hee hee

And surely you can't say this one is a "murderous little creature" image

  • We know that internet is littered with cute cat pics and kitten videos (by the way, what's up with those little stubby stump ears?) Sadly, the reality is more like this.

Murderous--and I'll add treasonous and treacherous--creatures. You must have found the single mutant variation that isn't plotting to sink his teeth into your neck while you sleep.

Also, how dare that cat pretend to be like bread. It doesn't get any more pretentious than that. Next thing you know they'll be posing as Trump's hair.

I agree! Cats taste wonderful, especially covered with hot sauce.
  • Maybe I can concede that your cat loves you, Estil. But they let you know by giving you a blank stare, and then blinking at you. That’s it. That’s affection.

The “kitty kiss” relays certain information about how the cat is feeling. If the cat blinks at you, it’s a good thing, but if he doesn’t, he’s asserting his dominance and potentially feeling aggressive. If the cat stares at you for too long, he’s telling you to go away.

All of these subtle movements could be hard to catch if you’re not watching closely enough — which you can’t do because staring in a cat’s eyes for too long could prompt an attack.

    Such mixed signals.

I will admit that I have an affinity for cats. Our current cat, George, is pretty cool. When I walk our dog, he walks with us - upwards of four blocks. Goes to the mailbox with us every night, too. Most cats are indifferent towards their humans, but George is semi-affectionate and respectful. Semi.

Having said that, cats are nowhere near as affectionate, loyal or loving as dogs. Sorry, Estil, I know you feel different, but I believe you're in a very small minority.

Regarding peeves: one of mine is less than it was... thanks to the Drumpfinator. I'll leave it at that and let y'all look that up.

Your cat is luring you into a false sense of security. One day that mail box will be full of explosives. George will purr and rub against your leg and such...just to get you to open the mailbox.

Just get ready for that blank stare from those cold dark eyes as you try to figure out where the lower half of your arm went.

Oh cats can very much be affectionate and loyal...you just have to earn it more. In my case, my cat is always with me in bed whether I'm sleeping (very often he likes to sit on top of me purring away) or whether I'm on the computer or doing games. Whenever I'm making coffee, he always has to leap right up on top of the sink and watch me. If I'm eating or if I'm building something or reading or looking at my cards...yep, he always has to be there watching me. In his younger days if I left to go to the store or even just down the hallway to take out garbage or turn the washer (at the time) he will actually cry out for me! He also lets me hold him like a baby (he's 30 in cat years (born 7/14/12) though so he's not a furbaby, he's a man) and does that cute little tapping his tail in my face image My wife even has this crazy idea that my cat is obsessed with me, though I didn't really do anything to encourage it. image

For various reasons, me and my wife are not destined to have human children but I think I've raised my little boy right image I do sadly miss our dearly departed Tweetie who went to kitty heaven right before we got Jamiee...maybe I'll post some pics of her as well, she was such a daddy's girl image

Umm...this is gonna make me sound very old fashioned for my age (almost 36) but...*takes deep breath* I don't use apps or touchscreen phones and I have no f-ing clue what Tinder is (sounds like something to do with lumberjacking image). If I can't tell the difference between a cat and a bread loaf, then l I don't have any business being a parent of a pet rock, much less a creature that according to Neil is currently plotting to blow my lower arm off.

Oh cats can very much be affectionate and loyal...you just have to earn it more.

I'm guessing Tinder isn't one of your top apps?

Umm...this is gonna make me sound very old fashioned for my age (almost 36) but...*takes deep breath* I don't use apps or touchscreen phones and I have no f-ing clue what Tinder is (sounds like something to do with lumberjacking image). Me and my wife are both homebodies so an expensive touch screen phone wouldn't do us any good and for me it's easier to use a good ol' fashioned desktop with a nice big 32 inch screen (old hand-me-down TV) image

Lumberjacking? Is that what the cool kids call it these days? Yep, you've nailed Tinder.

Sounds like you're more old school with a nice big TV, in which case, the only real ingredient you seem to be missing is this:

Cats' are good for keeping rats and mice out of the barn, but not much else.
When I was a kid, one of our cats was walking across the yard and about 4 or 5 barn swallows started harassing it,
swooping down over its head and then flying away. The cat got tired of it and reached up
and grabbed one, and the other swallows made the biggest racket I've ever heard.LOL.
Best cat we ever had, one time it had 3 kittens so we put them in a cardboard box in the shed,
a couple days later I checked on them and there were 3 dead mice in the box with the kittens.
She had killed three mice, one for every kitten. The mice were bigger than the kittens. Guess she didn't
realize they couldn't eat solid food yet.
I don't like cats, I like dogs a lot better, but they can be useful in the country. Not in the house though.
Unless you've got a mouse problem in the house.

  • I was interested to learn of this Nazi cat recently. Not only will cats delight in TNF777's arm being blown off at the elbow, but they are intent on world domination and they love Hitler with a passion. Churchill only had a cat because he suffered from night blindness and incontinence.
