+1, if others get their jollies by getting Internet forum praise, more power to them. IMHO, that's not the case (see Griffins post), but who does it harm? It's notoriously OC due to being misaligned with the rest of the cards on the sheet, so it only makes sense that a centered copy would come in the middle of a bunch of OC/MC cards.
  • Im just trying to make aware of a probable fake rip yet Im the bad guy. Thats typical.

I agree with you. I was really enjoying it. Until the RC was pulled. When alarm bells and PM's all went off. Agree with you again, the rip would have been the rip of all time IF real. And talked about forever. Forever. But in reality, when the outcome is known or predetermined then I have trouble enjoying it. Thats just me. I really don't see how you can enjoy something that is predetermined. I wouldn't buy a ticket for a game where the winner is already predetermined. Wheres the excitement. Thinking of the NBA ref that fixed those games.

Maybe you also enjoy fake, reprinted cards that you paid full price for. Yet, somehow Im the bad guy for calling it out.

Ok, now I really mean my vent, rant is done. My work here is done never to speak of again. Make your own opinions. Moving on to cards. image

P.S. and to complete the circle, Im just saying the king has no clothes. My humble opinion.
  • No, you are not quite done yet, bbc. I officially called you out on the 2nd part of your rant.

It had already been brought up in the actual thread and no one here paid any money to watch it. You're not the bad guy, just a dead horse beater. All the concerns were already laid out to allow people to make their own opinion without stirring it up in a different thread.

  • Say something wrong, get called out, play the victim. Classic!
  • charrigan. What did I get called out on? I didnt do anything wrong. Maybe I need to go back to English class. Believe me Im not the victim. I stand by what I say so nothing wrong. Your one sentence is 0 for 3. Sorry Im beating a dead horse sheriff. Ill continue on my way, sir.

It was just my rant. Jeepers good golly. Im glad you care so much.
  • What you didn't say in your reply, says enough for me. Thank you, as I sir, am no troll!
  • You posted about the Clemente like it was some groundbreaking expose, when it's been talked about already and really doesn't matter either way. When this was pointed out, you claimed that I was calling you the bad guy. I wasn't. I was saying you were wrong.

Fixed it for you and that might be a good idea:

One word sentence resulting in a capitalization error and missing comma - 1

    Missing apostrophes - 5

Bonus points for using the correct 'Your', though.

I'm confused. Am I the sheriff or is Larkin the sheriff? Or can there be 2 sheriffs? Does the sheriff have to wear clothes?

My pet peeve would be someone talking about lying, cheating and stealing in the hobby and they've put up with it for 40 years but now is the time to sound off about it. If you've dealt with it for 40 years

it can't be all that bad.

Among many, this one comes to mind. Toward the end of the GB/DET game, with 3 mins left and Det. ahead by 2 and they have the ball. Phil Sims states that the pressure is really on the Packers defense now,to make a stop. I would think the pressure is just as equal on the Det offense to maintain control of the ball to run the clock out and protect the lead/secure the win. They did not do this and GB scores the winning score. With all the commentary among the varied thread topics I trust I've landed my post in the right airport.image

While we're on the subject of Phil Simms, I wish someone would tell him there is no "ed" in the word "across", as in "he ran acrossed the field".

The phrase "And it broke the internet".

yahoo uses that one a lot. As in, "Christie Brinkley posted a selfie and it broke the internet".

She is still hot after all these years but the internet appears to be working.

"For you". Well this '67 Clemente (VGEX) books for $120, but "FOR YOU" I would take $75. or "I have (insert super high price)" so there's no way I could do (my reasonable offer)!!

Good grief, you just ruined my day! Am I to understand that use of the word "acrost" is, technically, acceptable? I honestly had no idea. I guess you learn something every day! I am NOT going to research "irregardless" though!

Whether it's acceptable or not might just be a matter of opinion.

This page says "the words acrossed and acrost are strictly nonstandard. They are sometimes used by writers to show dialect."

    http://englishplus.com/grammar/00000170.htm

And the definition of nonstandard is "not accepted or used by most of the educated speakers and writers of a language."

So, if Phil Simms says it again, just yell "uneducated!" at your TV. image

Has anyone ever seen a professor scream at his student? Id have to pay a visit to that "adult". These guys should definitely be molding our kids minds.

This is something I've often wondered - why do we accept behavior toward students from coaches that we'd never accept from professors toward those same students?
  • Was at the game so didn't get to see what happened. Was it after Spence chunked the 1st field goal attempt?

Not sticking up for Dabo but it certainly was the biggest game of his career.

Kinda sounds like emotions got the best of him as he's not really known for that type of behavior and certainly doesn't define his career like some well known basketball coach.

Again, haven't seen what happened. Worse then some of Bobby Knight's stuff?

Really like the Panthers stadium though and have always been a fan of Charlotte as a town. Very clean considering.

Did notice a ton, and I mean a ton of homeless folks some of which were pretty decent musicians.

I've evolved over the years and now believe the shouting and getting in the face of athletes does not work and is counterproductive. To answer the question of why a coach could get away with it while a professor could not I would assume is because of the adrenaline of the moment on the football field vs the calm of a classroom. Some emotion has to be expected in the heat of the moment on the field but there should be limits. I'm not sure exactly where the limit should be.

Some emotion, sure. But those same coaches would rip a kid to shreds for doing something emotional on the field and getting a flag for it. "Gotta control your emotions, young man" and all that. Hypocrisy at its finest.
  • The limits are that Dabo visited him 3-4 separate times and put his hands on him. Pulling and shaking him with his pads. Never put your hands on my son. NO respect for a 40-50 yo man who kept visiting and going back, yelling at him in order to show the crowd that he is not to blame. Grandstanding. He was showing the crowd, to put the blame on the young man. The adrenaline should have faded after the first two visits.

"galaxy27, you are such a looser."

And believe it or not, I've even had this one posed to me more than once......"Why are you being so quite?"

With the game in the balance, teams that rush three and invariably allow the opposition to blow down the field to tie/win the game, then wonder how the hell that possibly could've happened.
