  • My biggest pet-peeve question: How many hundreds of fake packs are in PSA Slapped holders? I think 1,000 would be a conservative estimate.

Answer: "...OK, lets say your correct in thinking 1000 packs is a conservative estimate. We have done just barely over 100,000 packs (including the ones that don’t show in the population report because they are bad). So that means we got 99% of them correct..."

Spot on, really. PSA needs to upgrade the board somehow. I rarely use it and I'm sure others are the same. I never see the big collectors on the board. Perhaps a few are but I think most say forget it.

I know Dick Vitale hates this too but as I explained to my wife it's very important strategery (as Rush Limbaugh likes to call it) especially come NCAA Tournament time it's roughly like an intentional walk in baseball...to a non-baseball fan it may seem nuts to walk a guy on purpose (or foul a guy on purpose in basketball) but it's an important part of what makes college basketball distinctive from the NBA. Shoot I couldn't even tell you off the top of my head if they even do that in the NBA (considering it's best of seven playoffs).

I don't think you understood my point. Yes, it is often a good strategy to foul on purpose near the end of game. Allowing it to be a good strategy is stupid. A team shouldn't be able to benefit from committing a foul. A harsher penalty for fouling would help to prevent it from happening. And it's basically the same in the NCAA and the NBA.

To go along with the free throw high fives, how about batters calling timeout and leaving the Box between every pitch to adjust batting gloves. Good grief, get in the box and stay there.

I take it to mean the runner has gained enough yardage for a first down and then keeps going to gain even more yardage beyond that first down marker, lol..

Bingo! The Brewers' Ryan Braun is the worst.

I can maybe see readjusting batting gloves after taking a big swing, but he does it even when he

takes a pitch. His batter's box rain-delay has singularly caused me to dislike him as a

    player.

Pretty jaded for a guy that's been on the board for only 3 months.

  • Ok sheriff. The elephant is the largest thread in the last two days and no one saying, up front, that something doesn't seem right. There are a lot of people PMing that they just don't believe it. Ill spell it out. ROBERTO CLEMENTE. Any questions or attacks now? Out of 200 congratulations only 2-3 are airing their disbelief.

    1. 19 cards all the same "off centeredness" except lo and behold the most valuable card, rare card that is universally difficult to find centered.

    2. The print marks, smudges, roller lines present only on one card but not the 19 others. Hmm.

    3. The sorting or sequencing is correct except for maybe ONE card.

    4. 2 Mays and then a RC. Should be playing the lottery.

Im saying what a great majority is thinking. Thats my opinion.

Dan, nice to meet you sheriff. Especially with over 5000 posts in less than 2 years. And if you don't see it then you're naive. Or out of the loop. I'd say the latter.

And I agree with you the one alias on this page is a MONSTER or perhaps a WARRIOR. Ok, gotta bounce.

  • Jaded from collecting for over 40 years and tired of the stealing, lying, cheating, deceiving etc. All for a buck. It all started with our parents getting ripped off by dealers when we were young. Then us as teens. And if you say jaded as a negative then you haven't been on ebay, bidding from certain auction houses or buying certain unopened. Yeah, Im the bad guy. There are some nice Mantles PSA 9s cheap and 1952 Mantles cheap on ebay that you should be buying then.

    Ok, my rant is done.

And I know for a fact some of the big name guys on here who we all respect are having great difficulty believing the rip. Some that rarely post anymore but we are friends. What do I know? But I do believe them. Theyve forgotten more than Ill ever know and their opinions are what got me started here. Believe them and not me.
  • If the rip is fake, who cares? I still enjoyed it.
  • I have absolutely zero opinions about the validity of the clemente pack. I'll be the first to say, that I know absolutely nothing about sequencing, cuts this way, cuts that way, etc.

However my handle does have the word "monster" and if you are insinuating that I am that "warrior" fellow then you certainly know less than I do in regards to the clemente pack.

Of course as g***r once said: "there is always room for more foot in your mouth".

I'd do a little more research before you start throwing accusations around or tell us that you invented the exclamation point next.
