<< <i>Joe Charboneau! Those are some nice autos. How did you get the Harper and Buxton, in person or TTM? >>
Thanks! Bought both on eBay already slabbed. I usually have great luck with raw purchases passing but I'm 0/2 with Harper (both came back questionable) so I picked this up as a signed RC placeholder until I find something nicer or he does a show.
<< <i>Indeed; didn't mean for that off-the-cuff riff to be comprehensive. 68 Carew, 64 Rose, 71 Munson, 76 Carter, Rice, and Lynn, 67 Carlton, 79 Murphy also come to mind at the moment as personal favorites. I think there was a whole thread on the topic of such cards done many years ago, if I recall correctly. Will have to try and dig it up after work.
Was shopping on a tight budget for a 7-7.5 for this card, so knew there would be a flaw. Happened upon this example with no black line, centered perforations, and liked how the PD serendipitously avoided the players' faces.

That's a nicely centered bird magic. I'm looking for one without the black line too.
love that posada card, it almost looks 3D'ish! growing up in ga, pendleton was the man....the west and mailman cards are blazers as well, not saying the barkley isn't. i just do not admire him at all for personal reasons. actually got to hang out w/ him twice in an intimate setting and just have nothing really nice to say about him on a personal level.
that bowman berra has very strong eye appeal as well!!!
anyways, picked a few up myself that just arrived. leaves me w/ 3 more to complete my basic set. grabbed these from red-zone directly and they seem to have pretty decent pricing on all their stuff. fast, efficient shipping as well. i've been pleasantly surprised and will definitely use them again.
still think the berra cards, in whole, are extremely undervalued....
here's the 60. been looking for a few months, hard to find centered w/o blobs of pink pd's peppered throughout the card:
and another 54. the 54 set has been growing on me a lot lately and another beast year w/ centering issues:
<< <i>I was out of town for a good part of last week so a big mail day when we got home Sunday.
First off...
Stadium giveaway last Friday night (I believe that was the night) and I knew I had to have one.
Next up are additions to my 03 Topps Traded Brian McCann rainbow I'm working on. The refractor will be sent off with the gold version I picked up a few weeks ago during my next renewal submission.
That is a sweet looking Bench. Without a doubt his best card and my favorite of him.
Finally, with the last ebay bucks offer plus a $5 coupon code I was sent I picked this up for my HOF catchers collection:
Got a few items just under the June wire. I guess I gave myself more to pack, but I am happy to make the room. First up, it's been a while but I finally picked up another Mantle. Happy to get one that is relatively tilt free and with perfect T/B centering. If only it was a tad to the left. Can't complain as I think the price was right on this one. I added a nice Wilkins PSA 9 for my set. I have a lot of the big boys out of the way, and this is one of the last big RC's I will need. Very happy with the centering on this one too. Along with the Mullin RC, this is one of the most condition sensitive HOF RC's. For the Cowboys fans I also just nabbed a couple really nice 79 FB racks to add to my collection. They are in terrific shape and feature Roger Staubach and Drew Pearson on top.
Some random stuff that fits my (non-focused) collecting interests.
And some results from a recent group sub. I felt like the grades on the two Thomases were harsh, and I have no idea what I missed on the Henry. I probably caught a break on the Sandberg.
The Legendary Cuts cards from the early years to me are some of the best baseball cards produced in the modern era. When done right they are really right but when done wrong, wow. This is a pick up for my HOF catchers collection.
And finally... I love the All Star workout jerseys, especially from the last original Yankee stadium one. I had the Jeter signed in a private signing and when I saw the McCann I thought it would look cool to pair them up.

Bob ... the hell with the back ... that Banks presents VERY WELL from the front. LOVE that centering.
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
thanks doug! i agree and certainly not complaining about the price...
this will round june out for me and fairly certain should be a slow july considering the 2 week pick up that just arrived.
a few 1970 daytons: they were folded prior to my purchase but arrived in flats, so i refolded them as i think that was how they were originally planned to be presented...
assuming this is chi-chi's rookie card, though technically not a card, however have not found anything prior...
and a 75 ryan. this was not either of the ones in the last pwcc auction:
finally, if anyone's seen "V for Vendetta" then you know all about this card.

Also - got this Skybox Rubies /35 similarly after 2+ years of not even seeing one in the public market (ebay, etc). Great month for the PC!

Only an idiot would have a message board signature.
They call me "Pack the Ripper"
and whatever anyone else says, he earned that open regardless of dj's three put. speith doubled the hole before, so....
but great looking card. love the wedge breaking the top border!
did you go out and grab the mag or just buy online?

He most definitely earned it. I just grabbed one online; I checked around everywhere I could to find the mag, but haven't found any available locally.
i've tried to do a SIFK in the past and wasn't as easy as I thought it would be...
there definitely is an art to it...

nah, she has paper loss on the back and only went for $13.50....
front is amazing though but do think it was a steal!
