I've been working for about 2 years on a raw 1959 Fleer Ted Williams set. With this card, I'm 7 cards shy of complete
I'm not posting it because there's anything remarkable about my copy. I'm posting it because this card design is easily my favorite in the 80 card set and probably makes my top 5 cards of all time, looks wise.
I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of them. I could replace the Roe or Klu. No football or basketball representation. I love the look of the 67 Topps sticker test sets of Red Sox and Pirates, but hard to narrow down to one favorite single. Anybody got any suggestions?
Ryan, Mays, Mantle, Williams and everything else. Just WOW.
This arrived yesterday. I've been looking for this for some time. My raw one made 2 trips to Newport coming back miscut once, and min size once. Bit the bullet and finally bought one graded. It's the second to last piece for my Cowboys Ring of Honor registry. Tex Schramm is the last card I need and it's in a bulk sub due back hopefully in the next 50 days.
52-90 All Sports, Mostly Topps, Mostly HOF, and some assorted wax.
So hard to pick a favorite, looks like a pretty eclectic bunch here. For this page, the Homerun Cigs pack is awesome, but I'm digging it all from 87F cello to burned faceless to the expected vintage and modern HOFers.
Wow Joe, that Killebrew is crazy! Aren't there like only 2 graded copies in existence? And doesn't that leave you like 2 cards shy of 100% on the Killebrew master?
<< <i>Wow Joe, that Killebrew is crazy! Aren't there like only 2 graded copies in existence? And doesn't that leave you like 2 cards shy of 100% on the Killebrew master? >>
So a hand cut newspaper article counts as a card in the master set now?

DOES NOT belong in the Master set in my opinion, however there are several examples of this kind of "card" that have found their way in to Master sets.
I wanted it for my personal collection. PSA says it can be added, so I did. If they change their decision, that's OK too.
Only two have been graded by PSA. Both are 3's.
I have one of the two missing items in my possession, just not graded yet.
Anyone want to sell a 1964 Bazooka complete box with Killebrew? The complete three player boxes and the three player panels should be considered the same, the extra cardboard really has nothing to do with making it a separate item. Again, just my opinion.
Have fun collecting!

it's more of a 'card' than the 66 sporting news ryan.
it appears that the killebrew card looks like it could be folded down the middle to have an appearance of a back. it also bears a number and even states "card"
...still technically not a card, imo. i have the ryan and feel the same way, but enjoy her just as much regardless!
Have been contemplating chasing this set for a while. Saw this jewel and decided the time was right. The set should take a while and be challenging to complete in high grade.

Agree completely, not really a card, but we are talking about the MASTER set here. The Master set should contain, rather than exclude, questionable items.
I am beginning to like the idea of the "Basic and Collector Issues" set. Seems to be a set that focuses on just the cards where player in question is pictured by himself. Of course there will still be disputes as to what belongs.
Have FUN collecting!!!!

The first clue was "Dayton Daily News".
My biggest issue with allowing cut outs like this in the master sets is that there were literally 100's of these types of cutouts in multiple sports card magazines during the card boom of the 80s and 90s. Most of which are not allowed in the master sets.

Nope. That means it was clipped from a newspaper. It doesn't make it an "article." Try again.
Hiya Marc - I don't collect hot wheels - do think they're really cool. I saw an episode of Pawn Stars where a guy brought in a rare car with surf board. Is that '68 with the HW's pin?

Love the 44AB set, looks like one I'll put on the back burner with the Mutoscopes. Glad to help with the Ugo.
Goonies is a movie I hadn't thought about in a long time. Was it PSA/DNA for the other autos prior to the recent adds? If so, do you have to/plan to resend for the additions?

Yea, I bought with the first 4 already authenticated. I do plan on re-subbing it, but first I am hoping a NYC chaser I know can get Josh Brolin and Jeff Cohen added to it.
Looking to have some custom cuts or plain custom cards built? PM me.
Was very pleased to land this Kareem for my collection. I had been looking for 6 months or so trying to find the right one. I almost pulled the trigger on a couple of PSA 10's but could not justify the price based on the centering or other flaws (wonder how it was a 10). Anyway landed this one for under 8 bucks and could not be more pleased. Not sure why this one was not a 10. The best centering I have seen on this card.

Just bought this today! Can't wait to get it in hand. I collect the Desert Shield team set and this is by far the most expensive and been out of my budget until recently. Very excited to have knocked another PSA 10 of the team list.

Not sports, but it seems that collecting sports and collecting autographs kind of run hand in hand as I do a lot of both.
I picked up this one up midweek. Had just sold my last Armstrong on Saturday to a fellow signed rookie collector when I went to Beckett/JSA day, but this one caught my eye Wednesday so I bid on it and was high bidder. I liked it because it's not inscribed and has the Apollo 11 added in his hand. Additionally I thought it was neat that it came with the original transmittal letter to Herb Yellin, the man behind The Lord John Press. It's pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if Herb was trying to get him to put his one small step quote.

Pickup from this morning. 1950 Bowman. Mostly commons. Nothing in great shape, but I couldn't resist the quantity. 98 of them. Just under 40% of the set.

My last post got me thinking about my top 5 best looking cards. Off the top of my head, this is what I've got so far
- 59 Fleer Williams #63 (above)
- 84 OPC Neely RC
- that Bowman Pee Wee Reese where he's jumping over a sliding base runner
- 56 Topps Clemente
Fifth spot: 51 Bowman Preacher Roe? 59 Topps Ted Kluszewski?
I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of them. I could replace the Roe or Klu. No football or basketball representation. I love the look of the 67 Topps sticker test sets of Red Sox and Pirates, but hard to narrow down to one favorite single. Anybody got any suggestions?
