<< <i>I mean no disrespect to dpeck, or anyone else, but asking a seller to turn an auction into a buy it now is low. It doesn't matter if you are paying market value, or more, you're pulling an item that was meant to run as an auction and ending the opportunity to for others to have their fair shot at it. It's dishonest and, IMO, is right at the level of shilling. If you want something for $x then put that in your snipe and move on... >>
You're wrong as usual. It was listed to be sold, how that happens and how the seller decides to try and accomplish that really doesn't matter as long as it's in line with eBay policies. It's actually nothing like schilling whatsoever - schilling is submitting fraudulent bids to drive up the price. Big difference.
What's REALLY LOW is contacting sellers on eBay to gain "facts" about transactions you had absolutely nothing to do with.
By the way, here's a Nottebart signed baseball auction to watch. Let's see how it goes. Nottebart ball

I have been here since nearly the inception of CU message boards. I think I have contributed plenty to where I am allowed to give an occasional "yup" and "WWDBD".
Collecting 1970s Topps baseball wax, rack and cello packs, as well as PCGS graded Half Cents, Large Cents, Two Cent pieces and Three Cent Silver pieces.
This thread is exactly why every year I email my brothers an updated spreadsheet of all my collectibles, not just cards, where each row of the spreadsheet is an item, with links to pics of the item, serial number of item if applicable, notes on taking care of an item, what might damage the value of the item, where each item is located (eg safe, safe deposit box, where hanging or located in house if art or if furniture, etc. and updated recent sales figs so they dont get ripped off if and when im gone and in case they dont know what something is or its worth. Even created a pivot table for easier search. It was a project, but once the initial list was completed, its not too much time to update every year. You may wish to consider something similar as planning now b4 an unforseen unfortunate event makes it to late and leaves too much to chance, will give u piece of mind that your loved ones at least realizes close to what your collections should garner. Good luck!
Right on ! I didn't believe the card was actually worth money like that. You got it for 300 bucks ? Nice score. It's nut not to congratulate the buyer here, especially in this hobby. CONGRATULATIONS.
