Now that's a cool pic. That's you with him right? I will open a lot as well so if I open one you will get it. Good luck on the hunt. Do you pickup as many cards of him as you can?
<< <i>i hope they can correct the paper stock. Not holding out hope though >>
I think I finally have the image upload worked out thanks to the kindness of the Mick…To respond to this…while heritage stock was certainly more beefy in previous years, by no means is the current stock flimsy. The 1977 cards seemed like paper width compared to the 2013 granderson.
I am buying buybacks of Pirates if anyone has them.

There's a jewelry radio commercial that plays a lot in my area that says "retail is for suckers". Every time it hear it I think I should stay away from retail Heritage and stay with hobby. But I can't resist! I haven't had much success with retail since 2007. For some reason back then, I was getting a lot of black refractors - consistently way better than the stated odds. Oh well, maybe we will have a retail sighting in two days!

I tend to agree…the difference is incredible. I was also going to include a comparison to some 2012 Topps cards..heritage is still more sturdy. Unfortunately, I got stuck on my image load…will try on my windows laptop tomorrow.

I agree, some buy backs have the stamp in the wrong spot. Same thing for some TTM & IP autos. I see a ton of cards on ebay that I would consider ruined with the Signature right through the face and scribbled all over the card. I got a nice buy back of Gil McDougald. Would've preferred Topps to include unaltered buy backs, but I like them just the same. Anyway, will check for retail tomorrow…lots of late night at work this past week.

It does seem like the 2013 start to get that arc, or curl, as singles if you hold them up . A little more than 2012 and so on. Each year, a small fraction. I'm not sure if that is concurrent with 1963 to 1964 sets.
But it seems like they cant get any thinner. Reminds me of Deer Park water bottles, they keep making the caps and plastic bottles smaller and smaller, they say for the environment, but it's really for the bottom line, and they are filled to the rim, that you end up spilling it when you twist off the cap. (or maybe that's just me).

There is a different person or team that is taking over Topps' Twitter feed this year than last year. Last year, products were being marketed for longer than a week. This year, Topps has been pretty consistent in staying within a one week window to advertise a product. Look for Topps to ramp back up the Heritage engine tomorrow, and show off better cards during the week until the ripping party begins on Friday. I'm betting that it won't be delayed further!

I hope you are right Jim. If that is the case, I will have to reschedule my vacation for the fourth time!

I dont care....Retail or Hobby...I am buying whatever I come across. Last year's product dried up FAST in my area last year. Had no choice but to pay hobby shop prices and buy online. Hitting up every Target and Walmart in a 30 mile radius the next 2 weeks.
They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time.
I live in Parma, Ohio, near Cleveland and the local target here doesn't have any heritage yet.....and I couldn't believe that the wrestling boxes I saw on Monday are all gone...must be some fans here...
I usually do a combination of blasters and hobby boxes. So easy to grab a blaster or two when out buying other items. >>
So, are you saying you have better success with a retail blaster over a retail box? I'm mostly hobby but don't mind picking up the occasional blaster to grab some border variations...and mostly for the fun of it. Would love to know what's worked out better for you.
Woohoo...Completed my Mariano Rivera topps heritage collection tonight...excludes black and gold refractors. Had just one elusive card remaining...2005. Last 4 times I watched it come up and sell within 4 hours for $30.
Just 6 to go for Jeter. And 6 to go for granderson. He's more in my price range, so I am collecting black refractors for granderson. Need 2007 & 2011 black refractors, 2008 dual auto, 2008 relic auto and 2011 blue & green tint in case anyone may like to reasonably part with one.

FYI for those unaware. If anyone pulls the coin cards the 1965 dime and quarter won't be silver. The half will be the 40% silver variety. There may be some value in the nickel if in a very high grade with full steps/lustre. With the dime/quarter an extremely high grade with lustre may net you a profit. Check with a coin dealer if they look very high grade with lots of lustre. Always wondered if searchers used a metal detector to detect the boxes with the coins in them.
Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".
Noted the complete set for 1965 redemption card. Will this be for the Heritage set or for the original 1965 set? If will be the Heritage set wonder if this will hurt the hand collated sets value, as this will add to the overall production numbers much like factory sets do.
Successful transactions:Tookybandit. "Everyone is equal, some are more equal than others".
no heritage here in Parma, going to check out the other target out in Strongsville this afternoon, taking my daughter out there so might as well check out the cards....
Thanks for the updated pix Craig. Yankees borders look pink. Topps continues to have a cruel dark sense of humor. What happened to good old Yankee blue? 2008 had Jeter in pink, retail borders are usually Red Sox red (target). On a related note, I was hoping the throw back uniforms would be more retro looking. Nationals seem fine but angels etc look like throw back means 80s and at that, it's more of a partial uniform shot. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

Yes I have had good success with blasters over retail boxes. I do mostly hobby. There was a long standing though that Target blasters would yield better stuff. Not sure anyone has ever been able to prove it.

I believe they're $2.99 pack, 8 pack boxes (blasters) still go for $19.99, or $19.98 because it's Wal-Mart and you always get the best price..
Jumbo packs are $8.99, I think, I don't buy many....someone correct me if I'm wrong on those.
