<< <i>parades don't matter to me, it's all about what happens on the field. >>

The parade seemed fine, but seems like a lot of players wanted their own parades through Boston which was epic.

I had to work but even if I didnt Im all set with crowds like that, Napoli looked like he had a freaking blast though and good for him! Peavey ended up buying a duckboat which I thought was hilarious, all in all they did a great job reaching out to the fans it was a great day for Boston! image

I watched some of the parade...same as '07 and '04 with the duck boats carrying the players through Boston streets. The stop at the marathon finish line to sing God Bless America was a touching moment led by Gomes and Saltalamacchia. They placed the WS trophy on the finish line and Ronan Tynan sang GBA. Some bombing survivors were there...very emotional moment. Pristine day weather wise.

Peavy buying the duck boat was really strange. Given the choice, I think I'd enjoy a new corvette Z06, but then again, Peavy could have both I'm sure and then some.

Great day for Red Sox Nation.

<< <i>agreed that this was totally unexpected after the disaster that was the 2012 season. I believe NONE of the "popular sportswriters" picked the Sox to win the WS, let alone the division or even a wild card slot. Fans were likely hoping for a respectable season, I know I was. I had hopes that maybe they could have a winning record. Exceeded expectations is an understatement >>

So I guess this is sort of like when we (Kentucky) won the championship in 1998 where though we were a two seed and thus had at least a reasonable shot, it wasn't like 2012, 1996, and ESPECIALLY 1978 where Kentucky had such a "dream team" (and on top of that a very long championship drought) that anything short of a national title was pretty much totally unacceptable. True, we expect to at least be in reasonable Final Four contention every year and we have high expectations of our basketball team anyway but those were the three years that was especially true.
