Not quite sure what this means. I actually think the current lot being offered is pretty damn good. It doesn't happen to fit in with what I collect, but if it did I'd be all over it.

I agree also. This is the 2nd good lot Lodi has put up.
I do think it would help if he put up pictures though.
<< <i>I think no one is taking it because they're afraid they'll miss out on the '54 Aaron rookie that will be put up next... >>
I haven't taken it yet (in the interest of keeping things moving if nothing else) because I don't want the headache of someone in the peanut gallery griping if I DON'T put up an Aaron.

Unfortunately, that has probably become a factor at this point. People who might otherwise take the lot decide they don't need the hassle of Bobby et al. b*tching about what they put up on the block.

Guys ... I think it is just common sense what you put up. The value does not have to be exactly the same, but I think it should be somewhere in the ballpark. HOWEVER, if you take one or two cards worth $75.00, don't think that putting up 150 cards worth .50 each is "equal value". Try looking at the transaction from the point of a 3rd party and ask yourself if two other people would trade those lots even up. Be honest with yourself. If you are I think this thread will go on for a LONG time. Good luck to everyone and enjoy the thread!

Bobby was just saying what everyone else was thinking. I dont have anything against Lodi but Id rather get a non graded star card than a lot of Brewer commons - even if they were graded. Thats why I havent jumped in on this one myself.
I think if someone took this lot and put up ONE nice card with a $30 value or so, then people would be happy. Say a pretty nice Eddie Murray RC or something. Multi card lots of low value cards that add up to a good amount just seem harder to move.

Bobby ain't the one b**tching.....Bobby is getting ready to save this thread, so don't be so quick to chop the legs out from under my feet just yet. >>
I'm ready to jump on your lot, Bobby. Looking forward to seeing what you've got up your sleeve.

My mistake; I didn't mean to mention him individually. That must have been a typo.

I would like to add something to Lodi's lot. I hope this works. Up first is an awesome book, "T206 The Players & Their Stories". Yea, I know this is the book that PSA gave out for free, but not everyone here is a PSA member. You might have to have been a platinum member to get it. I don't remember......anyway, I had it on my coffee table for decoration, but seeing as how I am not into the T206 set, I want someone who is to enjoy it.
Second item up. A hall of fame from a classic set in PSA 9 MINT grade. I won this recently and it was on Ebay. I was asking $40. Maybe too high, I don't know. VCP is all over the place with this card. The case was spotless when I got it. Somehow, I don't know how or what happened, but the case has minor spotting on it. I tried using goof off to get it off, to no avail. I was planning on sending it in to get reholdered. The new owner can do that or leave it as is.......
I don't want anything in return. I just want to help Lodi move his lot. I can add to this if need be....
Nice of you to add to Lodi's lot Bobby. Hopefully someone will grab the lot and get this thread rolling once again.

Here...I can add more to the lot.....here is another book in case some of you here like to read:
and #4) In honor of my making the #1 ranking on the Dick Butkus basic set. I paid around $30-$35 for this on Ebay when I was building my set. Nice autographed card from arguably the best linebacker of all time........
So my lot is now around $80. I can add to it if need be, but these are in additon to LodiBrews lot. I am just trying to jumpstart this thread for activity again.....
I am adding two more to my lot....signed Perez Steele.....
#5) Johnny Mize
#6) Ray Dandridge
Swartz, my lot is an estimated value between $100-$150. I can't speak for Lodi's lot (remember this is both of our lots - I am not sure what he values his items at). I have seen some of my items go high, and some go really cheap (for the exact same item). It also depends on if you want to get the Perez Steele graded or not. You can look at complete listings on Ebay to get an accurate guide. If I started everything at 99 cents however, I think I can get $100 maybe?
It's ok by me Dave.....we need to touch base with Lodi however. He was the original thread up for grabs. I was just trying to add stuff to stimulate interest.
I am thinking it is his BasherBoy. But I am not the original "Pay It Forward" poster. I donated my lot, not wanting anything in return. PM me your address. But we still need to have Lodi in the loop. It was his lot after all that was up for grabs.
<< <i>I would like this lot if I am able to take it. I won a lot 3 weeks ago or so. I have the PSA t206 book so I will send it off to the winner of the lot I post. Please let me know. Thanks Dave >>
Dave ... it's your for the taking. As per the rules from the OP's first post: Only one "I'll take it!" every 7 days per member. However, if an item is not claimed within 24 hours, anyone is welcome to take it (no matter when they last claimed cards).

Well I thank you all kindly. I know I will love teaching Bryce about some of these great players. I will get my lot on tonight if I can. Thanks again everyone.

INSTANT COLLECTION Ok, I decided to make up a modern lot to try and drive more intrest in this thread. There are alot of rookies, publications, dvd's, wrappers, game used items as well as over 125 refractors. I will be posting more pictures later once I get them together.
Top row are refractors
Jordan Rare Air book
Two NFL HOF game programs
Two 1975 Topps mini wrappers and one OPC
Awesome sports dvd's
A pair of 1988 Hall Of Fame game ticket stubs
1968 sports publication with Ted Hendricks on the cover. The NFL breakdown inside is loaded with great information.
The lot that you put is very nice, I'm stunned that no one has taken it. It is a great collection of cards and you can't beat the price, FREE!!!!!
Jump the shark = A phrase that entered into our lexicon with the help of 'Happy Days'. Fonzie literally jumped a shark in one episode, this marked the high point of the show. They were never able to come up with anything that could quite top that stunt and afterwards the show slowly crawled to cancelation.
We are all collectors and this is a wonderful thread for collectors. I've never met a Gem Mint Braves common that I didn't love, regardless of the assumed value. If someone was to offer up a large lot of Braves cards, graded or not, I would be all over it in a heartbeat.
I would hate to see this thread 'jump the shark'.
I would love to see this thread reach the 1000+ post count and allow collectors to share their cards and expand their collection in regard to their personal focus.
In closing, I believe all forum users who have posted here have been very generous and the good will contained within this thread is a positive for our circle of collectors, thank you all. Thanks to scmavl for getting this started. Thanks to Bobby for his generosity in assisting me. Thanks to prthd for getting me off the stump, lol. And thanks to whomever accepts the very sweet lot that prthd has currently up for FREE.
As promised more scans....I was out hitting the garage sales this moring and came across something I had to add to this lot. If your 35 or older you will remember these electronic masterpieces of their time.
Includes three games.
refractors--that is also a d-wade rc on the right
ok that wraps up my lot. the first year finest basketball cards are NOT refractors.
Wow, that takes me back to hanging out with my cousin in around '84 and playing those games. That's also one of my earliest card memories, as he had an '83 Donruss Tony Gwynn that I coveted.
Comments
you are welcome. And great video !!
Still all 83 Topps and all graded SGC 96 mint 9
#35 Rollie Fingers
#145 Don Sutton
#630 Paul Molitor
#321 Brewers Leaders
#350 Robin Yount
Total lot of 16 Brewers all graded. Half mint, half gem.
