Nice original looking 1853 BG! Vern, I need an 1865. Didn't think it would be this hard. Halves for that year seem way more available - at least in proof.
Here's a not so nice scan of a coin with a lot more going for it that what showsl p61: I really need to have Todd shoot this one!
It is not that life is short, but that you are dead for so very long.
Haven't checked in in a while. Many nice posts!! Vern, thanks for keeping the images rolling...
Freddie, I saw your comment on the 1865 quarter. It is very tough, and I'm fortunate to have had first crack at it. I had in sent sight unseen on approval. I think it had a light soap and water bath at one time because there's lots of crud caked in there, but the fields have a soft, metallic look. I liked it enough though, and would imagine it would take a long time to find a better one.

mach 1ne - Agree with Freddie, looks better than 53. And welcome to the forum, and the seated thread.

freddie - two good looking qtrs. I think I'd go for the '51 regardless of the number on the slab.

And has tons of pizzazz and character, without any distracting sulphur colors.

Thanks! It was graded AU55. I kinda wish now that I wouldn't have sold it.
