About a year ago, I decided to stop focusing on building sets and to try to find tough PQ coins in areas that previously didn't interest me. It was a great decision, I realize now, and my enjoyment of the hobby has grown accordingly. The 56-S dime Vern posted is one of my top 10 favorite coins right now, and it's something I wouldn't have been interested in last year. Thanks Doug for pushing me to go after it!
<< <i>Freddie, that 69-S doesn't need a CAC sticker to get my thumbs up, and it looks AU to me.

I would love that coin for my 1869 set, nice look.
As far as CAC, I submit a lot of coins and have made my fair share, and about 1 in 10 are head scratchers. The rest make sense. If you re-submit and ask John, he'll tell you his thoughts...at least you'll know why/his POV (for what it's worth).
My first Heritage auction win in half a decade I think - PCGS XF40 (WB-104 and pleasantly surprised to learn that it's R-5 in XF). This one was sort of a forgotten surprise; I threw up a bid for the heck of it and it actually held up.
finally got images of this one that I like. The vendor uses Mark Goodman images, these images here are mine and are verrryyyyy close to Mark's. Was in an NGC 61 holder with no bean before.
Had a wonderful time at the show in Baltimore. One of the many highlights was seeing a few of a collector (DL) friend's coins, including the most spectatular 1879 qtr in PC65. I wish I had pics to post of them.
GTB - Nice group of halves, and neat way to present them.
Paesan - J Giels, eh? My memory is failing.
