<< <i>I've haven't updated this thread in awhile so here is my first 1970 wax pack straight from the Grote vault. Thanks again Tim.

Nice pack to start the 70's decade off with IMO.

I was revisting the thread and can't believe I missed this. Mike, why does this pack not come up during our talks. Now I am going to have find the 76 Seaver rack so I can do some trading. image

    Hiya Mike

As we discussed - superb additions from the National.

Also - glad to hear you had a great time there!

Maybe this has been asked - so I apologize if missed...

What's you favorite rack - and please don't hesitate to "re"post it.

    Thanx for sharing.

Mike, after much deep thought I think this is right now my favorite rack pack even if it is a new acquisition. With my favorite Met of all time on the back along with two other players I liked growing up, Bud Harrelson and Carlton Fisk showing on top, it is my pick right now. The rack itself is in beautiful condition to boot as well.

Besides going on a Seaver rack pack quest at the National, I did pick this up as well. I really like the fact that it came from the Topps Vault which is the reason for that sticker shown in the last picture.

    Mike,

Very nice additions. Please bring the 3 '73 cellos with you to Wild Wings when Eric and I meet you there very soon. I will bring the hammer and Eric has the chisel. Bring a box of Kleenex for yourself.
    STAY HEALTHY!

Thanks Mike. I actually got the Pinella cello first as it looked really nice and worked out a deal for the other two plus the empty box. The seller had sold them for a friend and had a complete 1973 series 2 cello box. He got them graded figuring it would help them sell. It is cool to actually get some of the packs that came from that box.

  • Oh wow, these are spectacular! But I have a question....what is the psychology behind posting a big part of your collection online? Is it a pride factor? Is it a desire to share the wealth and joy with others? I ask because I can't see me posting a lot of my collection online, I just don't know who is looking & I really don't want people knowing what I have. Thanks!

For me, it is sharing what I collect. That is what I've thought forums like this are for, to share our collections with others. I enjoy looking at everyone else's collections and like to return the favor.

Actually, you may have a point about people knowing what I have as they may rip it all open. Good thing I've got good security. image

    Hi Bo

    That's a really good question!

Like Mike - I really enjoy sharing what I pick up since my wife could care less. Sharing my experience and knowledge brings great comfort also.

And like Mike - I have a good "connected" security alarm program - plus - I live in Texas - and "everyone" has a gun - even my cat! image
