The Mint's going to do 1 per HH for a week and then reexamine. I don't see them all selling out in a week, but if they change that HH limit rule, they might be gone pretty quickly.
And it is Hot Springs....lowest demand of the five 2010s. Ordering Yellowstone and some of the others is where things might get interesting....
Regardless, I will be there at noon EST helping to clog the server.

I think that the 27K mintage (vs. the 33K mintage of the bullion coins) will encourage the telefarkelers to scream
"SCARCER THAT THE BULLION COIN WHICH ONCE SOLD FOR $XXXX!!!!!!"
Their only problem will be getting enough quantity to make it worthwhile. If the one-at-a-time buyers don't absorb them, and the limits are lifted, the telefarkelers will suck them up immediately.

They would have to change the price in the fed. register, right? It'd be ridiculous--especially because they were struck when silver was much lower--but I can smell it too!

Someone needs to pony up and pay for overnight shipping and post a photo so everyone else can decide what to do and order in the first week if they want... 1...2...3...not it!
Just realized I have the day of release off of work too. Just have to convince my wife of the potential value of these after purchasing 3 sets of the bullion version with one more on the way.

Nah, you're way off...Mintage was 10,000, and if I remember correctly they were officially sold out by the following morning at 7am...The 20th ASE's were 250,000 + the Unc W singles at 213,000...
A lot of people had been collecting American Eagle products for some time, and people remembered what happened with the 1995-W special issue. . Hard to say what will happen with the hockey pucks, since you don't have the collector base to support them. Right now NOBODY owns a single vapor-blasted puck, much less a set that they want or need to add to. . That said, I expect a sellout by nightfall. Too much hype on the bullion versions to ignore this one. . That said, if they ever post a REAL PHOTOGRAPH and they pieces are grossly ugly, sales may suffer. . MOO . TD

Oops, you are right. I was talking about the Silver set. The Gold set did sell out very fast. I think the silver set took a few months.

The big reason why I'm sticking with the few days to sell out is because at my predicted 1 per HH limit is similar to the AP restrictions and they took a efw days to sell the majority of their stuff, sometimes to the same people who bought from other APs. These will be 1 per HH and whoever has more than 1 address will get more than one, true. But with the 1 per HH per each AP anyone could get 9. APs still took days to sell most of their stuff.
I'm staying with my few days prediction.
(Also, recent silver volatility may scare some speculators away)
Fair enough. Keep in mind however, that there are also those interested in obtaining quantities far in excess of 1's and 2's...That'll be reported next...

It just got a lot harder to get the P version from the US Mint. ModernCoinMart has mass emailed everyone to try and hoard all they can get, and paying a bonus. I'll never buy from them....ever! These were meant for households, not for dealers to try and hoard and mark up. I called them and asked them to stop, but they won't back down. Good luck trying to get one now!!! ______________________________________________
Dear ModernCoinMart/ JMRC Customer,
The United States Mint is offering a product for $279.95 with a limit of one per person, per household on Thursday April 28th at noon at their website. Here is the link that describes the product:
We are in need of several hundred of these, and as we have done in the past are willing to pay a premium for you and your friends and family to buy them for us. We will pay $330 each for the first 400 commitments we receive. We will also add another $25 for USPS express mail shipping and insurance so that you can overnight the coin to us when it arrives. If you are interested in this opportunity, please respond to britta@moderncoinmart.com and she will then email you step by step instructions.
Throughout the year opportunities like this present themselves and sometimes you can make a quick and easy profit. We've been doing this now for years with no problems; it is straightforward and backed by our longstanding reputation. We remember those that help us on the smaller purchases like this when the larger and more profitable opportunities come along.
Best Regards,

I wouldn't have had a problem with this if you had waited until after the sale date, but unless you withdraw that email offer, I will never buy from you again. The average collector will have a hard enough time getting one of these coins, and now you are trying to hoard them, and don't say you weren't. Otherwise you would have waited. I'm not alone with this thinking. Every collector that I know feels the exact same way.

@ $279 there is not much downside, in fact I'll certainly pay a premium right now for these.

Right...$279 looks like a great price if you consider what ASEs and burnished ASEs are now going for.
If the pricing stays, and spot stays or goes up, these are going to sell like hotcakes.
