Looks like the metals have been singled out as the "bad boys" of the moment. Smackdown time.
Must be nice to have that much money to throw around in the markets. The talking heads on CNBC seem overly animated about how good the economy and dollar are doing.

Silver margins to be increased another 13%. Goes into effect after trading today. Brings new speculator contracts up to $14,513....maintenance contracts at $10,750. 2nd time this week. Today is first delivery notification in silver and gold. The banksters want to close out a lot of shorts by today and need some help. Didn't see the LBMA rates posted this morning so I'm assuming London is closed for the royal wedding.
Three hours to showtime. Will the bombing attempt on Qaadafi have any effect on metals, or is his oil still too small a factor?

<< <i>This recent drop was a typical bull run shakeout. Huge drops happen in bull runs to shake out the weak hands, and then we go higher. >>
Not in my book....the drop looks more like an "exploded bubble" And if history is repeating itself, it may take a while to get back on track. >>
Disagree with OPA here. Is China selling it's gold and silver ? Is India ? Are big banks selling their gold ? The silver drop is just a technical blip due to the new margin requirements. IMO the CME raised margin requirements because they know that silver is going higher and higher, and they only want secure money coming into this future hot commodity. They want all the small timers to get out, and they got what they wanted. The price will settle soon, and then we go higher in 2012. Silver will be at 50 in 2012, and gold will be 1,950+. Gold drops $100.00 and now the "bubble" has exploded ? Gold was never in a "bubble". If you look at the Nasdaq bubble charts and the housing bubble charts, and compare it to the gold chart, then no way is gold in a bubble. But yes, silver did go up too fast, but it only came down because of the CME, not because of the physical buyers, but because of the traders.
As far as charts are concerned, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is reaching oversold territory on silver, and the oscillators still show that silver can decline on a daily chart. However, silver put in a double bottom formation yesterday, so the silver bull chart has not broken yet IMO.
