Had so much fun with those last night, I just bought a lot of 50 of them on Ebay.

Was originally thinking of going to pick up another jumbo box to get 10 more today but 50 pulls on the slot machine seemed like a better value image

just make sure they haven't been redeemed already!

listing said they were unredeemed - his feeback and the SNAD claim depend on it

  • Funny, I did the same thing last night--picked up a lot of 9 of the #1 Campanellas. Figured it was worth the shot to see if certain numbers hold better results.

Every card you unlock gives you another entry in the drawing for the ’52 Mantle, the more codes you enter, the more chances you have to win.

anyone else catch that? im guessing there is no redemption code for the 52 mantle. its going to be a random drawing to the nearest topps employee..

Thought orginally it was for a 1952 set? Maybe they changed it?
  • I just redeemed like 12 of them and got a Steve Carlton rookie. All the other were junk with like (2) 1959 cards. So I guess it was worth doing it for the Carlton

my 1953 card came from card # 8 and my Dave McNally auto came from card #4 - Got a 1987 common from one of my # 1 cards. I think everything is random

amazing - so far 135 1952s have been redeemed, among them a very nice proportion of high numbers including Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella. I can't imagine the thrill that would come over me to find out I just 'won' either of those cards, although I've already got a Campy. Additionally, the Jackie is listed as 312B. I was unaware of a variation existing for that card - anyone have an additional info on that? Eddie Mathews has been redeemed, too - wow.
  • did anyone happen to watch fox news this morning they had cal ripken on with the 52 in a shoe box talking about the contest, i was half asleep still, wonder if they utube stuff like that?,,bj

I'd be seriously stoked to pull a Carlton RC.

Question for the room - how much did a box cost? Did most of you crack boxes to get your redemptions or did you buyjust the redemptions off others?

The card that's picture didn't downlowd is a 2005 Topps Sean Burnett

If you count my cards and are like Matt that's only 59, I got dupes of the 2005 Pirates Team Card. Originally I had a 1968 Topps Hank Allen, but I traded it to jeffcbay for a 1972 Tom Grieve. Thanks Jeff!

Like Zep I too am addicted and have been bidding on 'unredeemed' lots on Ebay. Just picked up 200 from tntnorthnj, whom I've bought several items from before.

There are AT LEAST THREE 1952 Mantles.

    NY Times

<< <i>Underlying the campaign is the possibility that the code will yield the holiest of Topps cards, the 1952 Mickey Mantle rookie card. A mint condition card, issued during Topps’s rookie year (and Mantle’s second), sold in 2001 for $275,000. “We have more than one Mantle rookie card in this,” Warren Friss, vice president and general manager of Topps Sports and Entertainment, said last week in the company’s downtown Manhattan office. Later, in the interview, he said, “We have at least three.” >>

So, that leaves two for everyone else after I pull mine??

Seriously, I see the feeding frenzy has started - redemption cards going for $1-2 each on the Bay. I guess it is cheaper than the lottery though.

No problem, thank you! I love the trading aspect to it. I'm hoping I can trade my way to a Ripken somewhere... any Ripken. You would think a 1968 Topps common could be traded for a late 80s or early 90s Ripken base card. I've been trying to offer trades, but no takers so far.

Love it or hate it, this contest is pretty fun!
