Sweet stamps, I love 'em!! Are they pretty tough to pull? Also, the regular Topps set has 21 cards with different players (2 ea), yet has the same numbers. Example: #200 is Roy Halladay Walter Johnson. I'll bet Heritage is copying the same format. The checklist most likely only shows the plentiful card, not the SP.

Dog Gone it, I missed my UPS delivery today. He stopped by at 12:20 when I went to get some lunch. Should have something to post tomorrow.
I'm giving high marks to Atlanta Sportscards, good price, quick delivery on my pre-sales. I purchased a pre-sell case of 2010 Topps Jumbo from them also. They repackage the case well within another large box.
The guy that owns the store worked in another card shop I used to visit while he was in high school. After he got out of college he opened his own operation. I live in SC now, but I'll continue to buy from him with service like this.

If you live semi-close to your UPS distribution center, I bet you could pick it up this evening. I've stalked my UPS guy many times, and I've always had good results when picking my package up after a delivery attempt. You just have to wait until your truck returns to UPS. Just a suggestion.
Thanks so much for scanning the NL LL card. Man, i love the original '61 LLs and this new one, wow, just fantastic. same goes for the All Stars. Those puppies were High #'s in the '61 set, so its only right that they are SPd in 2010
Big Fan of: HOF Post War RC, Graded RCs WTB: PSA 1 - PSA 3 Centered, High Eye Appeal 1950's Mantle
Always interesting to see how much Topps replicates the errors in the original set. Last year was dead on in the first release. I couldn't follow some of the super SPs in the High number set.
According to an old Beckett guide I've kept, #21 might be a spelling variation #98 is a 3 variation checklist #99 is a UER with a print error on the back (wrong HR count) #160 has a print error on Whitey Ford #161 has the wrong photo checklist #189 has 2 versions checklist #273 has 2 versions #332 is another wrong photo error checklist #361 has 2 versions #426 which is numbered #463 #435 has a spelling error (San Francis, not San Francisco) checklist #437 has 2 versions #457 (listed as Angel with picture as Yankee) #464 ( also listed as Angel with picture as Yankee) #493 (Brooklyn A.L.) #522 (listed as Dodger but in Phillies cap) and there are no 587 or 588 cards.
That's what's listed in my book for 1961 errors. Like I said, for each 1960 error card, Topps matched it in Heritage. Guess we'll see what shows up, nice to see the double #463 card.
Wow a new Dropo signed card. I heard he hasn't signed TTM in years and was too sick to do so. I must have been wrong because I know Topps only pays like $500 - $1000 for these guys to sign the cards.
someone sold a babe ruth card for 25$ i guess kinda like stoney's mantle. didnt list the card #. is this a super sp? or just a base card? anyone know anything on this ruth and stoneys mantle. if they are rare?
The seller didn't sell it, I hit the bin, paid and then he refunded my money and said he had listed in error.....he now has it listed at $150. So we all know he really meant to say "Oops I listed that way too cheap so I'm going to back out of the sale and see if I can get more money.", I'll be happy to return the favor by leaving him appropriate feedback shortly.
I can get boxes for $59, but it means 3 hours in the car. I think I can wait until Monday. Maybe.

Not to drive everyone crazy with my variation obsession, but when I looked at cards on ebay I realized that Topps has followed the 1961 set structure on several cards. I wasn't originally aware that Heritage was going to have actual card checklists in the sets. Here's some more info on some of the 1961 variations:
#21 Twins Shortstop Zoilo Versalles was a UER with his name spelled Zorro. Heritage has Twins shortstop Orlando Cabrera #98 Version A: Red "Checklist" 98 black on white #98 Version B: Yellow "Checklist" 98 black on white #98 Version C: Yellow "Checklist" 98 white on black no copywright #161 Sherman Jones UER (Photo actually Eddie Fisher) #189 Version A: Copywright symbol almost adjacent to 263 Ken Hamlin #189 Version B: Copywright symbol adjacent to 264 Glen Hobbie #332 Dutch Dotterer UER (Photo actually Tommy Dotterer Dutch's Brother) #361 Version A: No ad on back #361 Version B: Special Feature ad on back #437 Version A: 440 Louis Aparicio #437 Version B: 440 Luis Aparicio
Stuff to look for when you are busting packs. Wouldn't want anyone to unknowingly trade or sell a Super SP.

A couple years back a trader by the handle of pharber used to come here and do a very nice writup on the nuances of the vintage sets being paralleled and the things Topps had done to pay homage to said set. Haven't seen him around for a long time.
Paul, where are you? (I should just go look him up on The Bench)
<< <i>Didn't notice the Rangers vs Angels on the Vlad card till now. Wonder if there is a base version with "Angels"? >>
Same thing happened with Adrian Beltre in the '05(?) set. In the base set he appeared correctly in a Mariners uni and in chrome set in his old Dodgers uni.
Not real fond of the dice game cards. Was this something that was an insert in '61? They should of put a pict of the player on it. Are they hard to pull?
