I am sorry guys, but I cannot go through all the pages of this thread to look for the information I seek.

What is the difference between the 24 pack box, the 12 pack box and the 8 pack blasters?

The 24 pack is known as hobby?

Are the other two known as retail boxes?

Are the odds in getting relic cards better in the 24 pack box? What other advantages if any?

Could a sealed blaster box become valuable in terms of unopened material or that can only happen to the hobby boxes?

Shouldn't the 2010 Heritage cards have the 1960 design and the 2011 Heritage, the 1961 Topps design? what am I missing?

The 24 pack is known as hobby? Yes.

Are the other two known as retail boxes? Yes. (retial this year has 8 pack blaster boxes, gravity feed boxes, and hanging rack packs)

Are the odds in getting relic cards better in the 24 pack box? Yes.

Could a sealed blaster box become valuable in terms of unopened material or that can only happen to the hobby boxes? Valuable? Probably neither.

Shouldn't the 2010 Heritage cards have the 1960 design and the 2011 Heritage, the 1961 Topps design? what am I missing? Heritage started with the 1952 design in 2001 and has gone forward as such. 1953 in 2002, 1954 in 2003, etc.....

I've had two red inks this year (Funny enough they are my only autos and they are both Jay Bruce) and they have both come from jumbo (rack) packs. One from Target and one from Meiers. I will say that I believe stamps and dice backs are exclusive to hobby.

Also there are 12 & 24 retail boxes out there. The 24 pack retail has no ruth, mantle or Maris however. The retail 24 ct is also a square vs. the 24 ct retail (rectangle). Final note on the 24ct retail, athough it has a sign on the box to look for autos and relics, there is no "one per box" as is in the hobby.

I pulled a stamp card out of a Target blaster........ I thought everything was in retail except for the Ruth chase cards and the cut signatures (according to Beckett, Ruth is in hobby, Maris is exclusive to Walmart and Mantle to Target.)

The packs are resealed as there is NO WAY to tell an auto from a pack of heritage that hasn't been opened.

Walt thank you,,I guess that's the only way they could.
But if they do that makes the packs BS because no shot at a real good pull.

I know where I can get my hands on some 2010 refractors over the weekend if these would help trade. I only have about 60 from the 2008 chrome set. Not sure why I didn't complete it two years ago, but better late than never.

    FCB what board is that?
  • TNP777TNP777 Posts: 5,710 ✭✭✭
George - FCB is freedomcardboard, a board that sprouted up and grew quickly after Beckett torpedoed their old site and came up with their current piece of fecal matter. In a recent poll sponsored by Upper Deck, it was voted as the best card community on the interwebs, although there were charges (true) of ballot stuffing by their members. In all fairness, their closest competitor was guilty of the same stuff. Also of note was the fact that certain communities were not on the ballot, possible because they were owned by for-profit companies - these include CU, Beckett, Upper Deck, Topps and Blowout, all of which have very active boards. Having said that, FCB is a good place to learn stuff, especially if you're into prospecting.

It appears like a lot of collectors here are doing the SSP's. Are they costing you big money or are you actually able to trade for them? I thought trading
for ink would be hard, can't imagine tracking down these cards.

I've bought six of the ssp's (need Pujols, Jeter, Sabathia, and Happ) for about $35-45 each. I still have none of the 2009 high number ssp's, which seem to have dried up in a hurry. (Edited because I was too lazy to proofread.)

  • Nam,

I think he is talking about the 09 high number ssps, which are almost non-existant on ebay at this point

maybe that is because they are all inside upopened packs. Even my stomach could only take 3 boxes and I might never finish what is in my
opinion, the worst heritage set ever.
