As I watch the posts go by (and I see the scans) I can't help but think Topps does a great job in getting lesser known players to sign cards in these sets.
Almost every time they get a retired player to sign (outside of the Hall of Famers) because that was their last card appearence as a player (Bobby Malkmus, Rocky Bridges, etc.) that is the 1st time these players have had a certified autograph card and they are just as important to baseball history as are the superstars whose cards are more valuable.
So, let's see more of the 61's of the world

Plano, Tx. Card Show #5, Sunday March 6, 2016 at Adat Chaverim (Northeast Corner Independence and Spring Creek) in Plano Tx 9Am to 4 PM. See you there!
<< <i>Good morning all. Here is what I have found for the relic checklists. There is just too much to put it all down. Below the relics is the complete list link:
Well finally, I have finished sorting (for now anyway, think I might track down another case now that I have sorted).
This is what I was able to put together....
Master: 1, 4 cards short of 2nd Base set: 6, 1 card short of 7th NAP: 3 BF: 4 TN: 3, 3 cards short of 4th FB: 4 '61: 8, 1 card short of 9th Chrome: 71/100 Refractors: 28/100 Dice Back: 8 short
So after that, here is my first round of needs and what I have to trade:
I've got a little side project going. The White Sox Clubhouse Collection jersey cards seem to have three different versions: a grey swatch, a black swatch and a white pinstripe swatch. I'm trying to collect one of each for the following players:
Pierzynski Jenks Dye Buehrle Konerko Ramirez
If anyone has extras to trade or sell, let me know which swatches you have.
Here is my itemized list of what was expected according to odds and what I actually pulled. The lack of stamps in my cases was a little disappointing as I really like those.
1,440 packs opened Stamps: Expected 7.46 Actual 4 Chromes: Expected 288 Actual 283 Refractors: Expected 80 Actual 71 Black Refractors: Expected 8.6 Actual 12 CC Relics: Expected 49.6 Actual 46 Seat Relics: Expected 3 Actual 3 Blue Autos: Expected 4 Actual 5 Red Autos: Expected 2.45 Actual 3 Dual Autos: Expected 0 Actual 1
<< <i>Good stuff this year guys? Better than last? >>
I would say better than last year, yes, I actually think the design of the cards was better last year than this, but that is just my view. I think the value is better this year is terms of hits. The autographs are MUCH better even though you could bust 5 or 6 cases and never hit a player that you heard of. The base set with SP's isn't that tough but you will need to do some work. There are other chase sets (dice backs, SSP's Mantle, Maris, Ruth) to keep you busy for a while.
Of course none of this matters without a great group of traders, for me the set is just icing.
Box 3 of 3: 8- Short Prints 2- NAP 2- T&N 2- BF 2- NF 6- Ruth Chase 4- Chrome 2- Refractor 1- Buy Back (Harvey Haddix)
Brooks Robinson Seat!
So since I didn't score a "relic or auto" from the first box, do I write a letter to Topps?
Also, what do I do with the Buy Backs? Are these to be redeemed for a card without the foil stamp? or is the whole idea "Hey, here are the cards you used to have, and we put a foil stamp on it!"?
Thanks everyone! I enjoyed yet another year of Heritage. Time for me to search for variations and do some sorting.
Nothing like opening the pack half way through the box to find the Miguel Tejada jersey........knowing that was the hit for the box....
I remember getting one of those a couple of years ago, and then when I sent the wrappers back to Topps because a box I bought didn't have one in it.................they sent me a replacement.................a Miguel Tejada jersey
Remember that Robinson I HAD, well, yesterday I got a cortisone shot in my arm and it was hurting so bad that I just went inside and left my computer and briefcase with a bunch of cards I had/was going to list in the car.
My wife wakes up this morning to ask why a folder of mine was in the street. I go out and the damn window is smashed. The cop asks what is missing and I say my work computer and some baseball cards.
The cop than says "I think there are your cards" It rained last night.
The end result
This was just an 800 count box with, thankfully, the SPs taken out, but kind of pissed about the other cards. Not a good day for Coot.
If you see the Robinson for sell somewhere, let me know. I'll make the person a good offer.
That sucks! But why isn't there at least two feet of snow on the sidewalk? Isn't it everywhere?
