I suggest for those that haventdone so already to log in and refresh your pages evry so many minutes so it does not log you ot. Keep your pages on the following: Linky so that when 12:00 hits all you have to do is click on the link. There will be tons of people attempting to log in between 30 minutes until countdown so it is best to have yourself logged in to get a head start on people. hopefully this plan works out to speed up the process as opposed to be trying to log in right before it goes on sale.
Unless you are already in, its going to take a long time to load. Think about it, there is a whole bunch of people just trying to get on the main page and then you have to click on the shop online link. its gonna takea long time just to get to the shop. Ive been logged in for a couple of hours and im browsing through the shop very quickly. We'll see

I can't even log on to the Mint web site at all "service unavailable". Phone: "Unable to serve you at this time" After all of these bottle-necks with high-demand items you'd think that they would get a server to handle this and more reps on days like today. Just unreal. Only the Government!

Oh, good grief.
Not saying people shouldn't be allowed to flip for profit -- but I think it's disgusting that the Mint occasionally creates a flipping frenzy whenever interest in their products is waning. They have to *know* they are serving flippers, not collectors. I expect better of that from my government. (Well I don't in practice, but I do in theory.)
This is bad on the Mint, not on the flippers. The Mint is merely exploiting human nature.

Actually, the Republicans in Congress privatized most of the US Mint's retail functions many years ago which resulted in all the lousy and foreign speaking customer service reps and slow servers. Privatizing certain things just doesn't work and the Mint is a perfect example.
EDITED to add: FYI I did some research a few years ago and it turned out that the companies who wanted to take over the retail functions of the Mint donated heavily to the campaigns of Republicans who were in charge of making the case for privatizing the Mint. So if you want someone to blame for the shoddy Mint retail operations just follow the money.
Why can't they just sell coins to those who want them until the years runs out?
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Thank you for dropping the gratuitous "politics bomb" into the thread.
Interesting...I've been trying to login for the past 45 minutes and all I ever got was "loading", never a login confirmation. Now I'm on the catalog page directly from the link in this thread and the mint webpage shows me the "Sign Out" option, not the "Sign In". So I am assuming that I am logged in. Still haven't progressed to the shopping cart, though...

You got a link to that info? What does the government run well....you silly dolt???
Even more interesting...I never received confirmation that my shopping cart was loaded, but when I went to my cart, the Lincoln C&C set was in there. Now I'm trying to checkout...

If we each get a thousand, it's a sell-out.
Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
<< <i>Boy. Wouldn't it be nice to get ahold of a bunch of leftover packaging from this set? >>
That would be like finding $500 bills laying around everywhere.
I'll need a bigger garage.
