Wow! Order placed and email received from the mint. Through the whole process I never received a confirmation of action on any page until I reached the Order processing, just the spinning hourglass (i.e. page was still loading). If you are still stuck, try jump ahead one step. You may be surprised as I was.
To the folks who are attacking me for sharing about why we get consistently bad service from the Mint retail operations, I was simply responding to the comment from another forum member in this thread who said "Just unreal. Only the Government!".
This ain't govt to blame, it's the crappy private corporation who took over these operations years ago, and I can guarantee they won't upgrade the servers because the CEO wants an extra yacht.
Ten agonizing minutes getting it into the cart.. I think the trick is to set up "quick checkout" which I did yesterday.. simultaneously tried to get through on the phone while I was waiting for the final Web page confirmation thingie to load.. the phones instantly went into "your call cannot be completed" a minute after sales started..
So that's that.. Firefox burst into flames.. my router melted..
One-day sell-out ya think?.. Can those jokers even handle 50,000 orders in one day?.. Guess we'll find out..
I think I picked the wrong week to give up sniffing glue

Hopefully they fixed the glitch that used to occur when using quick checkout...I stopped using that becuase of the issue... What used to happen is that during confirmation a blank screen would pull up...An order number would however be generated and viewable from the order history in your account....Then within about 1/2 hour, poof it would completely disappear...
I still don't know how any of you are getting on. I have a reliable high-speed DSL connection and the site has been down for me for at 34 mins. Can't get through via phone either even though I'm hitting redial. Doesn't make sense!
<< <i>Funny because ive been logged on and never got kicked off. ive been refreshy every 5 minutes or so >>
well, with past first day @ 12 orders for stuff like first spouses there has been absolutely no drag on their systems. I stayed on and kept clicking links to remain active yet at 12 I clicked for the product and found I was logged out. It has happened more than once.
eh.
I guess it doesn't hurt to try it. Even if it doesn't work, the login process will still have to be performed, and if it does work then hopefully that's time saved.
