It will sell out in very very quickly.

there will not be 30 days.

any returns for a refund will go out to waitlisted people.

many of those on the waitlist will have their open orders cancelled.

I'm definitely in for one of these, although that's a lot of $$ for the packaging. Complain about me complaining in advance, but these things better be of much higher quality than what they've been turning out so far this year.

  • I know it is hard to get a estimate but with those that have had prior experience how often does a limited item like this take to sell out. Within the first hour???

I'm glad they did the "one per household" thingy.

The way this promotion is being marketed, I would say that MOST purchasers should be Lincoln cent collectors who want ONE set for their OWN collection. Those that want to make the quick "flip" to pick up a total of maybe $200 or $300 will probably consist of a few thousand folks. The rush will be strong at Thursday noon and very unfortunately many, many true Lincoln cent collectors will be left out because they didn't work at deliberate speed to order. They will not pay $300 for a $60 product. We shall see how this all works out. Good luck to everyone who tries for this, but I do hope you are buying it to KEEP it. Steveimage

Are you guys going to try to order by phone or do you think it'll be easier to order on line?

As far as I've been told by the mint, these will not go on sale in the physical sales outlets until after the household limits are removed.

    It's always a crapshoot.

You got the guys posting their online order #'s within 5 minutes of the opening bell.
Then you got the guys saying the phone order went thru with ease, while everyone else is cursing and screaming the Mint sucks!!!!
Thursday wil be very interesting.....will the Mint suck?????
The Mint has had enogh experience with these hot issues....sooo, will they be ready for us ravenous coiners???
Remember when the online ordering was shut down for two months(?) or so.
I cannot remember which issue it was....was it the bald eagles? Oh Rob!!! Anyone???
Oh yea, I forgot the original question.
I'm going for the online ordering.....good luck to all!!!!
    Post you order #'s here!!!!!

This is correct - i.e., they will not be on sale there as they will sell out long before the limit is removed.

I doubt they are going to up their bandwidth and phone lines for few hot days a year, but who knows.

As far as my expectations, I'm expecting the worst (site slow and can't get through on the phones for an hour plus) just so I won't be disappointed.
    {For the new people: if you are logged in before noon, the system will just log you out at noon.}

As for the issue... I think the site went down around the time of the 20th anniversary AGEs.

  • Proof Lincoln silver dollar selling for $60 on ebay. Four of the 95% copper cents are $8 at the Mint. What makes the "complete" set so valuable?
  • 53BKid53BKid Posts: 2,176 ✭✭✭
The set is beautiful and will be of interest to a much wider population than just coin collectors.

    eBay pre-sales are running $140-175.

I'm sure there will be a lot of disgruntled people frustrated in their efforts to purchase these from the mint. Nothing's changed.
    HAPPY COLLECTING!!!

Well gee look the mint had silver available for a commemorative proof Lincoln, but none available for Proof ASE's

Online..., and yup GBully good memory, mint website issue was during the release of the Bald Eagle Commems, a really stupid decision to transition ecommerce during the release of a new product...Phone ordering was available but left no real way to know if/when the items were shipped...Then there was the storm that hit the shipping center...It was one thing after another with that one....

Lastly, I never recall being booted off for logging in before noon?

What's all the fuss? These coins are readily available individually. The packaging is nice, if you like to have your coins in a package.

As for the flippers... With a (1) set limit (and yes I know you will get more), is it really worth whipping this meager issue into such a frenzy?

If the mint was still issueing the coins that have been cancelled, would anyone really care about this set?
