no one else seems to be posting here recently I will have scans of a few nice and / or rare oddballs in a fews days - on the way back from psa
Collecting Clemente master (#6) and basic PSA registry sets, Hank Aaron master and basic sets, Mantle oddball issues, 1970's mega decade HOFs, 1967 Topps pin ups, and high grade Topps Clemente and Aaron. Numerous transactions with over 100 board members.
newly graded all raw subs the sportstix is pop2 highest the team issue is super rare and the by far the highest ever graded - requested to be added to the master set

I really like the oversized issues- if it is oversized - and it is a Clemente or Aaron - i will try to slab it
David Puddy- look back in this thread- there is a discussion on the team issues in there- i can tell you that the 67-69 pirates are all the same.

Looking through the latest SMR, seems like the PSA 10 1968 Topps 3D Clemente is in the next REA auction. Any guesses on how much that one will go for? Under/over at $47,500?
I figure since the basic Clemente thread has resurfaced, no sense in letting the master thread fall deeper into the abyss - but I can't pull it forward without a quality pic - so I'll try and make it worthy with a Fleer card.
i have a kelloggs box in spanish from the 90s,anybody know anything about it . i traded a psa ken griffey jr card for it many years ago. i tried attach a picture but it would not load up , i guess file to big

We need to revive this thread. A couple of more recent pick ups. This is the toughest of the Jay Pubs- ( much thanks to oaksey25 for help on this one)
poor condition OPC pin up- the only one I have seen in a while
Notice there are actually 2 variations of the 62-65 Jay Clemente with cap- (1) a close up (2) and a zoomed out . These variations I know are recognized in the pop report for other players ie. Ed Mathews

Thanks Scott That is an awesome Roberto fan club card I have not seen that one before. I wish that I would have gotten on the message board along time ago.
I got real exicited with the chance to add this rare PSA graded 71 Bazooka? to my collection but then i noticed it wasn't that rare numbered version i'm hunting for ..but a completely unknown black and white 1971 Bazooka? ( and it's hand-cut, just look as those sharp edges..) Those PSA graders/flip writers just keep coming up with the goods for us Clemente collectors to chase don't they... dang, i guess i got to keep looking : ) unless a PSA 9 Milton Bradley pops up soon... anyone known where to find one as i'm guessing PSA doesn't...

scotgrep---I have set of these but so far have not paid much attention to back variations. Are blank backs more scarce in general than instruction backs ? If so any idea of the ratio ?

I contacted the top registry guy for this set a while back and his belief was that they were fairly near 50/50 (if memory serves).
That is definitely not my experience with the Clemente. Seems to me about 7or8 instruction backs for every blank back. (about 3-1 per the PSA pop report)
Note that the population reports breaks them out three ways as they PSA did not recognize the variations for a quite a while.
busy week for my master set (1) just arrived via trade- tough food issue
(2) team issue thanks to smtjoy
(3) came and went quickly no longer mine PSA had to literally cram this box into the case

I just picked this up: I am pretty sure this is a 1972 Esso latin / hispanic coins Roberto Clemente. Does anyone have one of these? I think there may be 2 variations silver and brass plated.

It is an Esso coin. VERY tough. Another just sold as part of a set in the Hake auction. Let's get some action on the boards on this thread!! Where are you Clemente collectors?
Baez.... That's a very nice 4 with fantastic centering, have you upgraded since? BTW my first Clemente rookie was also a 4. I have since upgraded to a 6 a couple of years ago.

DialJ - that IDL is tough (and pretty valuable) in any grade -- nice pickup. Baez - congrats on completing the basic set.
Following are two recent upgrades -- both from personal submissions.
The 71 autograph cards are difficult to find with bright white borders. My thought is that they were printed and distributed at different times. I've seen both glossy and dull paper -- either can have a faded look. They do not seem well catalogued / documented.

I really need someone to school me on the Pirates Team Issues between 68 and 73. I'm starting to get very confused tracking down my Al Olivers.

What's the deal with the Sportstix? How were they distributed?

Sportstix came in packs like this. They have different border cuts, ie some are round, some square... It's a multi sport issue.

Just finishing up my basic set this week. Gpa is so so but steadily upgrading when I can.
Glad I found this, will post pics of my first 1955 when I receive it in the mail.
Baez I'm looking forward to seeing your '55 Clemente.
Even though I'm not building the set anymore I still continue to pickup nice Clemente's when I can. I purchased this one last week.
Here's a pic of my first Clemente rookie card. The grade is low but I like the fact that it's centered :-)
That six is solid btw! Looks like a 7 all the way
I haven't seen that variation, but here is a scan of mine.
