They'll all be for sale hopefully in as many bulk lots as possible. They probably won't arrive until the 13th or later. They are coming x-country, ground delivery as there are about 80lbs of slabs there.
<< <i>BST board. Mike (54topps) had them listed and was selling singles with a few here and a couple there. I gave him a couple weks and then made a fair offer on the rest. Works out to about 750 cards. UPS guy is gonna hate us! >>
I still have over 200 graded cards I'd love to dump, listing each on eBay, and fees, just are not worth it - I can see why someone would be willing to sell of a huge lot like that.
I know it's not Saturday yet, but I'll be out of town this weekend as I'm making a road trip to see the Canes play the Lightning, and I want to share this recent addition to my cards...
15 pack-fresh Gretzky '81 OPC stickers, these are tough cards to find! (I cut and pasted them into one image) these are all going under the November sub as well as 8 other Gretzky '81 stickers which are not pack-fresh. For those who are not familiar with this set, it's a tough one, and "pack-fresh" doesn't really mean "mint" - I'll be happy to get an 8 on any of these.
Very nice cards Patrick. As someone trying to get this set complete in PSA 8 or better I know the challenge of finding these things. I have been fortunate to find a few boxes here and there but this will the one set that takes me the longest I fell. The centering is horrible at best and then the cuts always seem to be at 45 degree angles on most cards.
Who is Phil Roberto fighting on his 73-73 card? I am fairly certain who it is.
Second, For Mullins5: You mentioned that Sittler would not sign a HOF card. Did you mean the Legends postcard (mid 90's), the standard sized card set from the mid 80's or something else?
I won this on ebay a couple of weeks ago - Signed Litho called Legends of the crease signed by Gump Worsley, Johnny Bower, Gary Cheevers, and Glen Hall (and the illustrator) My high bid was only round $37 so I think it's pretty cool! for that price, I also got a Beckett graded Roger Crozier but they dropped the card and chipped the front corner off the plastic, dramatically reducing the eye appeal. and it's not worth getting reholdered!
GREAT cards guys! i LOVE those old tobacco hockey cards, especially the 1911 C55 Vezina it's one of my favorite sports cards...i can't wait to pick one up one day.
georgebailey, sorry i missed your question - the card sittler wouldn't sign was his 1990 proset hof card.
i've begun collecting the 1981 o-pee-chee sticker set. 1981 is my birthyear and i wanted to collect the regular issue '81's for this reason ...but personally i find those to be ugly as can be...while building the bossy master set i ran across the 1981 stickers and i think they are great looking! as turbo said, it is quite a challenge to build in psa 8 + condition due to centering, miscuts, and overall availability (first year for opc stickers and short printed)
...my birthyear, nice looking stickers, bossy, gretzky, islanders with the cup, hard to find, short printed, and opc's first sticker album year = everything i want in collecting a set!
........i'll have some scans of a few additions to my set this week when they arrive in the mail (ungraded, but nice)
First hockey cards I think I have ever owned, picked up a package deal, just wanted the football so here's my first hockey cards,
The Gretzky is a puck used card, never even knew about these, pretty cool. The other Gretzky is jersey card #ed/99,not sure if Bure is good but the patch is cool from 2001.
Jim - that is a wonderful collection of C55's - that don smith should not be in that "fish tank" of a holder - it is criminal. (I see the others are secured.)
I think most major sports have their endeared tobacco set: T206 (baseball), C55 (hockey), Ogdens (soccer) - great stuff.
Bosox1976 - that is my favorite hockey set of all time - enjoy the wonderful portraits. I've stated this before, I am only sad that the Ken Dryden was added so late in the set that they used a game posed photo.
And the Bruins in pants - is classic 1970's proof.
cheers to all the fine posts of hockey cards - nice first Gretzky, Ovechkin, and "Red" ....
Hopefully the photo bucket scans work. Some guys wanted to see these when i got them back from PSA. These cards i sent in for review. I still say the Orr is a 10. Under my 10 X mag i see a hint of wear on that corner. Grading is supposed to be wear without using a magnifying glass. Still, I was very happy with the 2 bumps i did recieve. The Howe was in a very old holder. LMK if you can see these pics. Cheers, Steve Didn't bump Bumped

I just won this card tonight. I thought the first fight card was Phil Roberto from the 73 set, apparently not???

Jim & Trent - love that vintage hockey. I would take the C55 cards over T206's - but that's just me.
More fight cards ...
speaking of vintage - check this out from a recent auction

<< <i>TheHun, is that your Sawchuk mitt? It is off the hook!.. wow. >>
Trent - I can wish ... but no, it belonged to a collegue. It was sold recently at a well known auction.
Kill for an arm ? a blocker ? a mask ? - yup
As I say that, it reminds me of the tragic way Sawchuk died. - hockey lore ....
Pulled an excellent Bossy RC and wanted to share it on this thread.
