It is beautiful. It doeas have a little tiny bit of rim damage.
The capsule,,,,,,,,,,,,,IS F@#%& HARD AS HECK TO OPEN.
yes I opened it, but I did not touch the coin.
On the right side of sexy momma, there looked to be those die polishing marks that i have heard of and i wanted to make sure it was not the capsule. It was on the coin.
My thumbs are killing me from trying to open the darn thing.
here is a pic of my begginers coin collecting display, It on the wine rack at home and it is out for me to look at, the coins always seem to need straightening.
the pic sucks so what you see is a set of 69 ASEs, reverse proof in the center. And 2 lincolns to the sides.
I got mine from the post office today. Priority from the mint to Alaska in three days is amazingly fast. Unfortunately for those used to Registered mail, there are no postal date stamps on the box. As far as a sealed box, that term is a joke with these.
First impression of the coin was... small. The detail is very nice. My coin has the little rim irregularities above the U of United. The worst is a unique, small but obvious, black mark (maybe struck through lint) just in front of the eagle's nose.
Otherwise a nice looking set. I wonder if I will get a First Strike MS68
I just got my two examples and one shows cameo definition and deep proof-like fields, while the other is satin finish throughout. The PL one is on the right. >>
The coin on the right appears to have the same rim issues that mine has. Are you considering exchanging that one?
I was gonna post a pic of the presentation but it's so nice in my opinion that I'm not sure if I should or let it stay a secret. Has anyone else posted a pic of that?
OK,......... This morning there was some confusion about First Strike and does it quailify if taken out of box but postmarked by the 11th.........I e-mailed and Terri sent back this reply....."Thank you for contacting PCGS customer service. The coin does quailify(outside of mint shipping box) for First Strike designation if it is postmarked to us before March 11".................There you have it...in "writing"

is the black spot in front of the nose anything like this one?
it is a tiny black speck left of the beak.
then there are a bunch of others along the rim.
the area near the ray appears to be a scratch of some sort.

No, Mine is a little higher than that and a little longer, like a lint thread. I am at work now or I would try to get a photo. The mark appears to be depressed into the coin surface, not sitting on the coin surface.
anyone else want to go the mint about the coin quality?
I could almost live with the striations, but the spotting and rim damage push it over the edge into "low quality."
anyone else feel the same way? >>
I'm happy with mine, no spotting at all and no marks on the rims that I can see while in the capsule. It does have some of the die polish lines, but that's cool with me. Mine will probably stay in the original packaging, I can't imagine this being in a First Strike holder being worth anything extra now that so many have shipped.
Probably not worth the $75+ in costs to send it in and find out!!! That's too big of a fee for me when it looks awesome in its current holder.

Hey, did you get your coin or email yet??? >>
Oh was I pissed. I got a tracking number for one of three at 11:30 p.m. last night, but it did not ship today. By the way, this UHR was ordered last of the three. Anyway, I finally got the email ten minutes ago, so the damn thing will ship tomorrow. I also faxed my orders to PBGS just to prove to them that they were not shipping FIFO so they could stop their blatant lying.
Ok, gotta go, making lasagna and will be done in 5 minutes. See ya by 10 p.m.
I want everybody to know that I believe we should post much larger pictures; I'm not entirely happy with the level of detail provided by these small and medium sized pictures that everybody is posting. So please, think big; think gigs.
Furthermore, once we start posting these gigantic pictures, everybody should select quote when replying to the forum so that these pictures multiply like rabbits.
I am a keeper, but if I had one of the first First Strike 70s to sell for five figures, I would flip it and buy another. But that is just me >>
Does that make 4 pcgs ms 70's? I thought Charlie had 2 of them, yet there's 2 others up for sale including his #1...?? And why do i think maybe some of these guys have cats stored in the trunks of their cars....Where's a nice pit Bull when you need one....?

YOu believe this $hit.. It must be the cat piss owner..
It's interesting how the mail comes out at the end of the day and UPS does get it to you next day. I watched the tracking at it was out at 4pm yesterday. Got the mail around 8pm. It got to my local UPS around 6am and was on the truck and to my hands around 9am.
So far no complaints on stolen coins or coins not being delivered with this no sig required.. A big gamble but how much is PB saving or the Mint saving by doing this.
It did not take as long as some people thought. My UHR was in Indy @ 1:13 AM on the 4th and arrived at my POBox @ 9:15 AM on the 5th. FedEx and USPS priority to Calif. Waiting for my husband so we can open the package.
