Ditto...it was sad shipping it off so soon. But we had fun for a little while.

With so many posters receiving their coins the direction of this thread should change somewhat. The question I would like to pose is this, what is the future for this coin? Will it end up just being just another bullion coin worth melt or will there be a long term demand driving up it's price?

Ahh, tis a classic short clip. It was great then, and great now. Thanx.

Yes, I'm getting a special striking....the Mint Boy Moy Strike featuring Mint Boy's bust on the reverse.

<< <i>Yay? I dunno, I'm sort of unimpressed by it. UPS delivered it at 10:45 this morning and it pretty much had to sit on my doorstop until I got home. Although the UHR was still in the capsule - the capsule was loose in the box.

I really find myself wanting to sink my teeth into it as it looks so soft.

Here is a quick reverse shot... no tripod and just plainjane incandescent light:

Very captivating photo, well done! Isn't it cool how many different ways there are to "see" this High Relief surface? As was pointed out earlier, lighting the surface is tricky. Maybe similar to photographing the Grand Canyon at sunset? How certain topography "pops out" while other features hide in shadow? Each different angle seems to show another "face" of the beautiful design. Great pic~

hope you don't get mine. it looks like one of the areas I thought was a speck of grease is probably a small nick. image

i think i've decided to return it.

i'll make up my mind tomorrow.

with the almost non-existant communication at pbgs, I've no idea when I'll see my replacement. image nor can I rely upon any info from the phone rep. about it.

... I wonder if I can mail myself with the coin.

Mine was on the front steps when I got home. Order #308309xx. I was very anxious to check it out after the condition of some of the coins shown in this thread. To my relief/joy, mine looks perfect. I'm very happy. I hope everyone else's looks as good as the one I received today.

And now you know why I suggested Charlie list his on eBay with a reference to the PCGS article as being #1 with a BIN of $15,000 or best offer way back when he was the only one. He might have got it then. Now, with the flood going to PCGS, he may be lucky to get a 10th of that amount, depending on how the grades fall and where the price of gold goes.

I don't know why the link does not work. It's still there, Ebay item number: 260371750307

    Text of listing:

"People please. There is no such thing as "First Strike" or "Early Release". These are terms made up to get gullible people to pay more than what coin is worth. The only people making money is grading service and dealers who have relationships with graders. Stop the abuse, buy from mint. I mean come on,what do you think, the Mint makes coins and then they hope its good enough to be a 69 or 70? For those of you who will curse me out let me save you the trouble by saying I dont care. In fact, people are recieving coins who placed their orders a day after! How is that fair?? You can Google "coin grading fraud" or any type of combination of words concerning grading and value and see for yourself. You can go to "Youtube" and type in search box "Ultra High Relief" there is 1 video of person who recieved their coin already who placed their order a day after it went on sale! By the way, this auction is for information that is already in description. "
