Well.... My first PM goal accomplished...

First.... please don't pick on the quality of the photos.... It's my first attempt!!

Several years ago I set myself one numismatic goal and two PM goals.
I have been working on them in tandum.
I reached my silver goal first!!

10,000 oz. of .999 Fine silver..... and here it is.

It is mainly Engelhard and JM. All of the 100s [39] and 50's [6] are Engelhard rolled.
All of the 10's are die struck.... most of the 5s are die struck...
Most of the 1s are Engelhard Prospectors [over 3000].

image

In this pix, you can see an original roll of the 1/10 , 1/4 , and 1/2 oz silver Prostectors
as well as some gold fractionals and some tubes of 1 oz Prospectors.
Notice the 4 stages of 5 oz bars... from cast to old loaf to new loaf to die struck.
I must say... finding 5's is tough!!

image

Now this is the recently aquired Engelhard Dest Set.
1-1oz Silver, Platinum, Gold and fractional golds.

image

Just a pix!

About 200 10's and 100 5's

Close up of the Fractionals.

uhhhhhhhhhh I feel like quitting hoarding PMs after seeing your pics, you make my collection look puny and insignificant.

How many years did it take for you to do this and what is your other pm goal? 10,000 ounces of gold as welll???

Something tells me that you'll be quite happy with your accumulation before too many more months go by. Of course, you don't gather up 10,000 oz. of silver without really enjoying the stuff, either.image

That will buy a lot of food and fuel someday.
  • That's nothing, big deal, drop in the bucket.

J/k of course, Hope I'm lucky enough to accumulate that much some day and at that price lol.
    Its all relative

    That is kick as*

Great photo and accumulation. Your all set for some serious inflation control. Even got it broken down for easy dispersal when the time comes!

  • very nice...

so are you completley attached, or if spot jumps to an insane amount would you sell? what would it take for you to dump it all at once?

were you rotating it along the way.. playing the game?

    not into 90% huh?

    why no 1000 ozers?

where's your favorite place to buy?

    heheha.. 20 q's

    nice collection

  • << <i> As a matter of fact...... $7.84 oz. >>

    That's pretty good.
  • You put that stash together at a good time. It would be much harder to do now with all the smaller pieces. By the way that is one great stash.
  • Nice accumulation Baron! I just crunched a few numbers and have found that you have spent about $1,089 per month for the past 72 months to accumulate that much silver at a cost of $7.84/oz. That is QUITE ambitious for all but a select few. It would be the equivalent (dollarwise) to going out today and purchasing 2 new $35,000 vehicles at 72 months and at 0% interest!!!

So, have you accomplished the "numismatic goal" yet? and if so, would you mind sharing?

  • KUCH ........

I thought this thread was buried!! ..... You really did go back to find it. image

To the question ...... No, I do not have a set sell price. It all depends on what is going on in the world.

I did sell some gold a while back at $ 1200/oz. I will most likely get back in next week.

I would like to say .... I thought the metals were going to drop from $1200 / 18.50 and that is why

I sold my Maples. Maples can be replaced any time ..... but I had to keep the silver because of my

personal preference for extruded Engelhard 100's and die struck Engelhard & JM 1's, 5's & 10's....

you just can not pick up the phone and get as much as you want when ever you want.

I do not make predictions as to the metals price ..... buttttt I would like to say... Yes there will be some

hard down times like we have seen in the past week ..... and they can be worrysome ... and there will be more...

buttttt ....... I really believe that "we" all only have a short time left before the metals really go "Parabolic".

    guitarwes ......

I have 1 more coin I NEED image for my set before I share it.

It is not even the most expensive or lowest mintage of the set .... I just have not found one that I like.

Butttttt when I do .......... image

  • That's a great huge stash you've got there, I only have one of the old poured Engelhard 50 oz. bars are these tough to get and bring any premium???
  • I only have one of the old poured Engelhard 50 oz. bars are these tough to get and bring any premium???

The cast 50 oz. is a common bar. You do not see them every day ..... but not hard to find.

As far a premium ...... no more than the cast 100's ...... sell at spot .... buy at anything up to $1 over.
