Nothing New and nothing special BUT, I was going through some old boxes in my shed and I found an old Whitman Candy box and it kind of jingled large coins inside, and I got all excited at what is this treasure I forgot about, Like I said, nothing special, it was just about 60 old worn 10% silver Mexico Peso's that I probably picked out of a junk box years ago. But what's PRICELESS is the little note pad with deposit & withdrawal activity my niece wrote down for her and my nephews whenever they came over, probably at Thanksgiving or Christmas, and they would play "Banco de Mexico" this stuff has got to be at least 30 years old, Needless to say it put a BIG smile on my face
Posted this on another site already, but it fits here. The photo really doesn't do the luster and detail complete justice. Really happy with this one. Common date, but the best I have ever seen. Not a mark on it. Formerly in Canadiana Collection. PCGS MS66 Red.

I really enjoy this thread! Some beautiful examples out there!

1763 over 2 columnario, Viceroyalty of New Spain, Mexico City mint, assayers Manuel de la Pena and Manuel Assorin. This was my major acquisition from the Rudman collection, part II, last January. It's one of the more scarce overdate/assayer varieties -- XF40 pop 1/0.
Here's one I purchased not so long ago. Currently in PCGS submission via John at CRO. He was kind enough to send it to Mark Goodman for his excellent photography services. Thanks John and Mark!
And, here is another. Photo courtesy PCGS.

1787 8 reales, Captaincy General of Chile, Santiago mint. ex Goldberg 42. This example has a circular bump on the reverse where, I assume, the alloy was not well mixed. The harder component did not compress as much as the silver/copper alloy. Maybe it's a chunk of platinum!!! Chile produced mostly gold at this time and platinum was considered a nuisance because it interfered with their gold mining. It might have been tempting to dump some valueless, high-density, white metal into the mix.

This appears to be the Proof I attributed on a previous thread.

We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
question is this: is a actual Peso hiding within this artwork?
Victoria is always nice to look at.

Jack, nice addition - that MM assayer is very tough!
I own just a couple of pillars, but 163/2 happens to be one of them. It's a more common assayer MF:
