Nice cards Don, and all that are listed today. That Blyleven in a toughy to get centered. I actually bought a card at a show today! Money's a little tight but I couldn't resist this Mays Auto at the Seattle show this morning. It's a great little show with lots of great cards. Take care. Doug
That's one heckuva wild guess! You are correct. Each pitcher (including both Randy Jones ) had at least one seaon in which he lost 20 or more decisions.

heh. and a coupla those guys are in the Hall.....where are the standards?
Beautiful cards, Don. That Stargell looks sensational for a 7...much better than the '71 (7)'s I typically find. I love the O'Riley card, too. I must have gone through 4 raw buys until I finally landed an acceptable one.
Thanks Brett. I think the Stargell may be under graded, but since it's for my set, I don't really care. I've been looking for the HOF'ers in well centered PSA 7 grade if I can find them, but will occasionally gamble on a raw one. I'm also being fairly picky on my high numbers as I don't want to have to upgrade those later.
While I think they are nice looking cards (especially yours) I always felt "ripped off" with the double 1974 All-Star cards. Topps spoiled us with individual all-star cards from the 1950's on - then it got worse as they just put a designated all-star strip across the said player's card.
So it was nice to see the return of the individual All-Star cards in the 1982 Topps set (albiet ugly ones)
Well, I feel like this week I finally get to contribute to this thread for the first time. Heres a few raw pickups that I got at the local card show today. Let me know how you think I done. I was looking for 8s.
It's hard to tell from scans, but it looks like you did pretty well. All cards look like they have a legitimate shot at an 8, but certainly no worse than 7. The one exception is probably the 1972 Bob Grim because of the T/B centering.
Greg - Look to be some pretty nice pickups. Hard to tell the centering on a few of those because it looks like the scans cut off at the bottom. There are a few cards I see that would probably be closer to a 7 because of centering issues. Still nice raw cards nonetheless.
here ya go Burgundy, some nice examples of players from both schools, always enjoyed the rivalry......i particularly like the '78 Griffin card where he seems to be running almost effortlessly through the attempted tackle of a defender......enjoy!
Here are some '62s I bought probably 20+ years ago. They were great cards but the package was damaged and a little less than half the cards got dinged on the top left corner. Being young and dumb I never returned them and looking back they were really cheap. I actually sent in the undamaged cards to PSA and got several 8's and four 9's. I guess I can't complain but it still makes me mad to think what would have been. That's the way it goes sometimes.
Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
I can't believe it's been two weeks since this thread has made it to the front page. Everyone is busy with the holidays I'm sure, myself included. So it's time to bump this back up to the top.
Here are some cards that departed my raw collection this week. Another board member needed them to build his '74 set, so I thought I'd give them a proper farewell here. Outside of print marks on a few of them, it's a really sharp lot:
I did make a nice raw pickup on the BST this week as well though:
Brett - It takes time to scan cards every week, and I appreciate all of the cards you've posted here week after week. Your posting and others gave me a new appreciation for the quality raw card.
I recently moved my '75T set from a binder to penny sleeves and Card Saver IIs. Here's a couple of scans, I'll post more from the set each week:
The Highlights are all a tad L/R OC, but they will do for now. The Aaron is well centered, but entombed in a PSA 7 slab:
And a few more. Just noticed the miscut on the Munson. Now I gotta go find another one.

Wow, great start to the week already and some nice stuff at the end of last week.
Doug - Love those '64s. Gotta agree, very clean looking and sharp.
Brett - Awesome lot of '75s there!
Tom - Those matchbooks are cool and nice pickup on the minis. I've got about 150 of those and will start a set someday. Hope I'm able to find nice lots like that when I do.
Beautiful cards today guys. Love the '75s which was my first year of heavy buying as a kid, and Mike the '62 card is no less than a "9" by the looks of it

I guess someday is today for me and the '75 minis. Just picked up a set. I have no will power.
Taking a relaxing break in between Holiday spending today. Here's some cards from my '55 set. The Valo doesn't look so good now that I look at it closer, oh well. Take care. Doug

I bought this recently.
Also picked this up a while ago.

Still making progress on my '71 Topps set. Here are some of the nicer pickups from this past week:

I feel the same way. I also felt short changed when Topps consolidated (and eventually elimanted) the league leader cards and postseason cards.

Super cards...as always. I haven't posted here in 3 weeks. I'm just a little burned out. I still enjoy seeing your (and others') great cards, though.

I think i just hit my personal mother load from an overseas auction!! This card is blazer Mint!! Centering...eh// This could become #8 in a PSA 9.
These were picked up this week for my White Sox type set (so they won't remain raw for long) - some Diamond matchbook covers from 1935-6.
Technically, they're not cards but I figured I'd show 'em anyway.
Collecting: Topps 1952-79, Bowman 1952-55, OPC 1965-71, and Pre-War White Sox cards
I picked up a bunch (80+) of real nice cards for my '75 mini set at the Cincy Moeller show a few weeks ago.
Here are some of the highlights...

I'd also be interested in the mini Aaron if you are selling it.

I bought this really nice lot of '69s last week:
Then through a trade with a fellow board member, I added this milestone to my '71 Topps set:
