Hey guys, I'm going to start something that I hope might evolve into a staple on the board: Raw card Saturdays. Each Saturday I'm going to post some of my raw stuff, and a lot of this stuff will be for sale (will post the same on the Buy Sell Trade board too). Here's a few to get started, hope you like 'em.
Stay classy,
Ron

whatcha want for it ?
Hope I am not horning in, but here are some I got this week (not for sale). The 68's were from a nice lot I bought on ebay, the 76's from a set I bought on ebay (that was poorly packaged or it would have been a monster), the 77's from a rack I bought from Bob S. on the B/S/T board...

SWEET!!!
Al Kaline is my all-time favorite baseball player. My first game was watching him play in game #3 in the 1968 Series.
<< <i>Poor Hank has a print dot right smack dab in his left nostril.
Nice raw cards Ron.

That's a hangboog, not a print dot...

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
The 92UD Homerun Heroes set was very popular - I think it booked at 50 bucks at one point - ya could only get these in the "jumbo" packs.
Not only was Bonds substantially smaller back then but also - check his batting position after swinging - his knee is locked for power - when he "bulked up" - the stand changed and the knee was more bent - not needing that extra leverage - same with McGwire e.g.
If memory serves - once everyone realized how much of this stuff UD produced - the bottom fell out. Side note on that - in 1992 - I went to the National in Atlanta - and the set was still relatively popular - I saw the jumbo packs/boxes for sale all over the place at reduced prices - if retail was 1.99 - the going price was more like 4-5 bucks. They were dumping the boxes at a buck a pack or less.
I told my wife that this was an indicator that the set would drop like a ton of bricks - it did - the next week. I set up at a local Sunday show and a guy had a boatload - and didn't sell a pack - I felt bad for the guy - I figured he picked them up at the National and thought he was gonna clean up!
Those were the "boom" days - with the excitement went a whole lotta speculation and for some aggrevation!

Thank you. I wish I had time to do each card individually but I think it's cool to show a collection of raw pickups in the spirit of the thread.
