Nice cards everyone and the Ryan is exactly what I am looking for, very nice!

Brock21,
My post and mystery question were both very much tongue-in-cheek. I simply scanned my own samples of the '75's posted by Don earlier in the day. Therefore, the answer is, "They are the same cards that Don posted."
I had commented earlier that I've taken a break from posting because of burnout. The burnout was mainly a result of the mental strain of trying to come up with fresh, creative themes for my posts. I jokingly posted my versions of Don's cards as a way of showing that I'm currently out of ideas.
You definitely get an A+ for effort. Technically, you're right. They are all among the first 25 cards in the set.
I have started picking up the 1960 Leaf cards on ebay for a song, at first I wasn't sure if I would like them, but now I can't get enough!

My Dad is up visiting and we were going through some cards together today. Brings back the good memories of collecting with him. Here's some '53s we were taking a look at this afternoon.
Since I showed my latest arrivals for my White Sox set across the street, I might as well show them here too - a 1917 Collins-McCarthy and a 1928 W502 strip card...
purduepete those are nice looking cards. I am working on a Cincinnati Reds Type set, I wish I was as far along as you are with your White Sox!

Brett - by the looks of the terrain, it sure seems like those pice were taken in the area surrounding Phoenix, AZ. I'm off to try and Google up the answer for ya...
The second wave of expansion, in 1969, brought two more teams to the Cactus League: the San Diego Padres set up camp in Yuma, Ariz. where they remain today, while the Seattle Pilots, later the Milwaukee Brewers, settled in Tempe. After a number of springs in Tempe followed by several training camps in Sun City, Ariz., the Brewers, in 1986, moved into the new Compadre Stadium in Chandler, Ariz.
Remember that the Pilots became the Brewers in 1970 - that explains the same backdrop in some of the pictures.
I forgot to say...Congrats on your son getting married today!
Brett - Great cards from '70, '71, and '73! For the Cubs mystery, probably not the answer you are looking for, Hoyt is a HOF'er, no one else in the group is. If that isn't it, does it have to do with the location of the Wilhelm card?
As usual, I've overlooked a possible correct answer. Wilhelm is a nice try, but not correct. Try thinking in the positive, not the negative. What I mean by that is that the commonality among the cards (except one) is not something that is absent or has not been done. One could say that none of the players except "X" were born in Hawaii; or none of the players except "X" debuted in 1961. It's more along the lines of all of the players are avid golfers except "X;" or all of the photos were taken in Yankee stadium except for card "X."

How about all of the photos were taken in Yankee stadium except the Wilhelm?
I always liked multi-player cards as a kid. It seemed like a better deal when you were getting two or three good players on a single card. Even today, I like dual auto cards and such.
also, re:1970 Pilots cards, i examined them a few times just to be sure, because that hill in the background looked very familiar and i knew it was Tempe, but more succintly, it is Tempe Diablo Stadium, which was the Pilots spring home for '69 & '70, but is currently the home of the California/Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Orange County & Surrounding Communities.....i've been to that stadium numerous times and have photos with that very same hill.
Thanks for the Pilot info. It's pretty cool to know that the stadium is still in use. My younger son went there to see a couple of Angels spring training games last spring. I had no idea that it was the same place as the Pilots' park.
Rob, those are great cards. Thanks for posting 'em.
fiveniner, I agree about 1957 Collins #295. It's one of my favorites from that set.
Yeah, I had given up, but since you gave another hint, I'll take another stab at it. J.C. Martin is the only card that doesn't have part of the Cub showing.
<< <i>Yeah, I had given up, but since you gave another hint, I'll take another stab at it. J.C. Martin is the only card that doesn't have part of the Cub showing. >>
Don,
I applaud your persistence. YOU ARE CORRECT! Martin's is the only card that doesn't have some portion of that adorable, cuddly bear cub showing.
Very nicely done, Don. You are the the official "Card King of the Weekend."
Beautiful cards everyone. Hey Brett, congrats on your son getting married, that's great. A guess to your Cubby question, Mr. Santo who grew up here in Seattle is the only player shown not wearing sleeves.
CONGRATS on your son's wedding. Please wish him and your new daughter-in-law a life filled with HEALTHY and HAPPINESS!
I hope the weather by you is better than the weather here on Long Island!
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
+1 for a julen sighting...nice minis BTW I have a sub of some toughie minis (across the street) that should be popping any day now. Keep your fingers crossed!
Brett, it looks like your 57 set is coming along rather nicely.
James, those are some nice 71 Greatest Moments cards...you don't see those everyday...thanks for sharing 'em!
purduepete, thanks for the comment. I really loved them as a kid, but never put a set together. I couldn't pass them up. I am hoping to get the better ones grade and use the cash for the three sets I am currently working on.

Brett - Outstanding cards as always. I'm making some final upgrades, for the time being anyway, to my '75 and '75 mini sets, and still working on my '71 set, but '77 is next on my list after that. I have a bunch of them that I need to find time to sort out.
Is it just the scan or does the Fingers have a miscut?

Don,
Fingers may have a slight miscut. I'll have to take a closer look when I get home from work. Even if it does, I'm Ok with it since I'll never be submitting it for grading.
Sorry for the crooked scans, some have the bend in them and my address book messed up the centering. These are not mint by any means but there are a few good HOFers here from the '63 set. I'm happy with the condition of the Temple card since it's the last card in the set. Brett, always loved the air brush look. Poor guys look like they're wearing cartoon hats.

Not the right answer, but valid nonetheless.
Don, I'm sure you're kidding about Yankee stadium. It looks like most of those photos were taken in Shea.
Here's a hint: The answer can be found by examining the front of each card.
