THANKS MIKE! I have no idea how PSA grades those ... I am looking forward to the results ... There are not too many that have been graded. This is the only one I have seen in person where the stamp is completely attached to another stamp. FINGERS CROSSED.
STAY HEALTHY!

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
Nice '62s Mike - how close are you to finishing the set?
Here are some '61 Topps high numbers that I picked up a few days ago. I probably overspent a little on them, but I couldn't pass them up since they were in such nice shape (and besides; I needed them for my set too... ).
Here are a few of some 79's I that came from some rips I made last year. It's hard to believe these cards are now 30 years old and that I'm now 40. Time flies bye.
I have every raw Topps regular baseball set from 1970 through 2008. I also have most of the traded sets, but stopped collecting those after 1995 (I think). I don't even know if Topps still issues a traded set, but they probably do.
The only place to view my cards is on this thread. I download 'em to Photobucket, display them here, then delete them after a couple of months. I can't stand the clutter in my Photobucket album! I've never had anyone with whom to share my cards until I found this thread. For that, I'm eternally grateful to RonBurgundy.
That's the BIG A, of course. It's about the only thing remaining from the original stadium. That place has undergone many changes over the years. I live about 25 mins away, but manage to get to only 1 or 2 games a year.
That's the way their stadium looked for years....That's a classic pic!! Now you can hardly see the Big A because of the renovation they made. I don't know about the others locally, but I still call the stadium, The Big A.
I'll take a stab at the 1972 mystery theme - For each of those players, the first year in their careers that they batted at least 100 times also happened to be the year that they hit the most homeruns.
<< <i>I'll take a stab at the 1972 mystery theme - For each of those players, the first year in their careers that they batted at least 100 times also happened to be the year that they hit the most homeruns. >>
Indy, you are correct, though not stated exactly the same as I envisioned.
Each player acheived his single-season career high in homers during his rookie season. Several of those players went on to have long and productive careers, but never mathced their initial home run total. File that under, "Gee. And I thought this was gonna be so easy."
I don't plan to start anything beyond 1970. I once tried building a 1969 set but got only about 70% complete before throwing in the towel. Still in need of Jackson RC, Mantle, and a few other stars, the project was becoming too expensive. Upgrading my 70's sets is a full time task that never ends. If I ever happen to strike it rich someday, I will surely start going backward. In case you are wondering why I began with 1970...that was the year I bought my first baseball card. I've been collecting ever since.
I thought I would add a few 86 raws to this thread since the guys are doing a rip on these as they get them. I also have a few more Ryans, Boggs and some more, but they aren't scanned yet. I can't remember if these came from cellos or wax. I just wanted to add that the scans on these cards seem to downgrade these things. Either way, I really need to check out my other 86's.
I realize today isn't Saturday, but technically I bought this the day AFTER Saturday, and I'm posting it TWO days after Saturday, so I figured it was okay.
Picked this one up for a great price at a local show in Canton, Ohio. Sending it in this week under the January Special. Expecting nothing higher than a 7. I hope the t/b centering doesn't kill me. Wish me luck!
<< <i> Brian's scans of some very nice 1979's last week inspired me to dust off my set and have a look-see. Boy, the overall centering was worse than I remembered! Here are a few of the more presentable HOFers. >>
Brett, I'm glad to have inspired you and those are nice cards as always.
I decided to post some Fleer cards just to be different. I ripped a dozen of these packs a couple of weeks ago that I bought a couple of years ago. These are among the better cards and the HOF/my favorites are already put away in my stash.
Brian, those Fleers look pretty cool. I collect only Topps so I'm very unfamiliar with other brands. It's fun to get a look at different cards now and then.

Brett, I'm really a Topps guy too, but when I was going through all of my childhood cards last year, I noticed I had some 80 to 83 Fleer and some 81 to 84 Donruss with my Topps and that was the last I collected cards until a few years ago. I thought some rips of those cards would be cool.
This actual Yaz card was close to one of the last cards I purchased as a kid.
Here is a group of '75's, joined together by a top secret bond...all but one card, that is. Who can identify the secret, tell which card does not belong, and why?
Please forgive the crooked pics. I had a hard time keeping these from slippin' and slidin' while I was scanning them.
I'm going to guess that Johnny Oates is the odd card out because he's deceased. I don't have time to check all of those players, but I think all the others are still living.
I love those 75's and 81 Fleers. I remember opening packs of those 81 Fleers in the day - it felt so odd buying them because they weren't Topps - I almost felt like a traitor buying them at the time. I appreciate the design of the 81F today more than I did back then when I was 12 years old. Thanks for sharing your cards guys!!!

P.S. Thanks for the compliment about the '74's.
And it's always a treat to see the cards that you display, Brett! Do you have any plans on starting any sets prior to 1970?

Some more of my 79's I've been scanning. The all time cards were always a favorite when I was a kid. So I'm happy to have these in my collection.

<< <i>All the last names end in S? I am guessing here, but is the s in Lis silent? >>
Bobby,
Yes, all the names end in "s." I don't believe the "s" in "Lis" is silent. However, silent or not, Lis is not the odd man out here.
The question remains: Which player does not belong, and why?
