fattymacs, it sounds like both you and your son had a good time at last weekend's Moeller show.

Here are a few more cards that I picked up at that show - a couple more 52 Bowmans, and some from a nice group of 75 Topps Minis:

I agree, the set was a smoker that is for sure, if I did not already have a set from that era
I have the 75, I would have loved that set.

    Good for you.

I posted this in another thread, but I thought it would be perfect for the Saturday Raw thread. I bought 3 rack packs for myself for Xmas and posted pics of the rack packs. Well I ripped them Xmas eve and here are some of the cards that were in them. Many of the commons that I didn't scan appear to be very nice cards. I only wish I could have these type of cards in my 76 to 79 rips. image

Nice 73's! I know it is a set people either love or hate. I always thought it was a great set. It shows how far action photography has come today. Thanks for sharing.

that '73 Duffy card cracks me up.

    anatomically speaking.

Thanks for sharing the 73's! To me the 73 cards are special as they are the first cards I remember my father buying me as a 4 or 5 year old. Plus they do have some nice action shots.

I was sifting through my beaters box and thought I'd post these (I think I posted these a while back).

The Yogi was from a $1.00 box in the early 80's, Mick was from my bro-in-laws childhood collection, Willie Has evidence of trimming (and re-attaching), and Jackie is a bit MC:

    nice '73 sir!

i got it, it is a collection of former baseball players that unknowingly gave scratch to a person who faked their own death to capitalize on a personal vendetta ^ also shrewdly utliized xmas theme of giving to pander to their cause?

    anywho

    J,

From what I could see you would have had to receive positive feedback on your '76 set. It was a real beauty. I made an effort to get it myself but was outbid. Very nice '73 Mays, by the way. Mine is in desperate need of an upgrade.

Very nice 73's and 74's! I found about 65 1975 mini's this morning at a local card show. Here are a few of the best ones. I finally found a decent Claudell Washington #647 that is full size (not a shorty).

It's been a while since I've posted anything on this thread - mainly because I haven't bought much lately.

Earlier this week, I went to one of the local card shops and bought about 2 dozen NMMT commons to upgrade my '73 set.

While I was there, I also picked up these '52s to add to my recently started mid-grade set...

From my 1972 Topps set, chosen with a secret mystery theme. Who can tell me what all these players have in common?

Kind of a mish-mosh bunch of stuff that I've picked up in the last month or two. The Henderson I just got on a group cello rip from these boards. The Hank Greenberg is from the 1948 Cleveland Indians picture pack. The 72's I actually got last summer and just got around to scanning them.

Very nice cards, Mike. I especially like the '79 Gamble. I'm not a big fan of that set, but when I see a sharp, nicely centered example like that, they can be really attractive.

Picked these up at a local show today. Going to try to break and submit the Sandberg I will more than likely get thrown back in my face like the Burger King. I got the 2005 Donruss Greats Dawson auto for $8. Finally I bought a box of 2008 Bowman chrome and pulled the F***dome japan variation.
