you beat me to the punch with the 75's. This set is growing on me.

<< <i>Love the 1970 Topps. They are 70's cards for sure, but they still have a little of that 60's feel to them, if that makes any sense. Nice stuff.
Robert >>
Robert, I think I know what you mean. The card design is fairly simple and the colors are drab...pre psychedelic '70's. Culturally, the players are still of the 1960's. Shorter hair, baggier uniforms, sleeveless Indians jerseys, Washington Senators, etc. I love 'em.

I do too since they were my very first cards collected as a kid but besides, I do consider them part of the Golden Age sets (1948-1971) since most of the stars of the 50s/60s were there (except for Mantle). Also, it was the last year for several of the classic stadiums (Crosley, Forbes and Shibe).

I couldn't post any scans last weekend beacause I was out of town. When I got back to my home in northern KY, I found that a bunch of siding was blown off one side of my house and a small tree was down in my front yard - courtesy of Ike.
My card buying is going to be limited for a while now, so I'll just post some of the cards currently in my collection: this week it will be from the 1956 Topps set. Here's the first lot...
<< <i>purduepete - I'm still a long way from the finish (I'm easily sidetracked). I still need the big 3 (Mantle, Mays, and Williams). >>
Sounds like me with my 52 Bowmans - I've got about 100 out of the 252 card set. It doesn't help when I'm also trying to work on completing all of the other sets I've started (54-55 Bowman, 55-79 Topps)
those are some darn nice 56's, congrats. are the star cards in that condition?

Doubt I will ever match that awesome football collection of your, But here's a few of my favaorites.
The only three Bowmans I have from the small set. I really like the small set but Im just spread to thin at the moment on the other sets Im working on. Someday though.
My contribution to the thread for this week will be cards from my 1957 Topps set. Unfortunately, I don't have any superstars to show. However, I tried to provide a good cross section of the set by displaying some low numbers, mid numbers, semi-his, and highs. I also tried to represent each team, with an emphasis on the World Series Champions from that season (Braves).

Something a little different for the two new cards I got this week. You will ask why in the world would I put up these two cards? Well, The 71 Astros card represents my 747th for my ExMt-Nm set - only 5 more to go and it's been torturous. The 72 Cardenal TR card is my 785th card for my Nm-NmMt set - only 2 more to go!
I know it is Sunday, but i just got my mits on this one.

<< <i>No star cards ymarea? What about that Munson rookie card blazer? It's a beauty, and sure is nicer than my beat up copy of the card. >>
Thanks, kidofkevin. I meant no disrespect to Munson. It was just an oversight on my part. Thank you to you, too, Tom.
Very nice cards, everyone!

Brett, where do you keep finding those blazers?
The '75 minis that were shown are tough to find too.
Fattymacs - I love those Bowmans! How far away are you from completing the set?
