Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
Here are a couple of 69's that I picked up. I got about 50 of them, but only scanned 18 of them so far. The corners are a lot nicer then the scans show. (Card savers not sitting very flat)
Wow, those are some blazing 69s. Super nice! Here are few recent pickups of mine (i.e., purchase, vending box, wax). Some are nicer than others...the Rose and Pinella are the cream of the crop, both super sweet IMHO...
Great looking cards again this weekend, especially julen's Fleer BK set, and meteoriteguy's Playmates! The 69's and 77's that were shown are no slouches either!
Cuda, any OPC would be a good option to submit for grading IMO, especially cards as sharp as those...
Brett, what gives with that "modern" 80's stuff? I'll have to put on my thinking cap to try and figure out your latest riddle.
Tom, You always display such fantastic cards. You have one heckuva collection. If you get tired of trying to solve my 1980 cards mystery, PM me and I'll let you in on the secret.

Thanks, Brett!
I'll take a stab at your mystery question - based on the cards of Freddie Patek and Harry Chappas, all of those players were under 6 feet tall. Am I close to the correct answer?

Tom, you are SOOOO close that I'm gonna reveal the answer for all to see: Each man played at a listed height of 5'9" or shorter. I figured that if anyone would figure it out, it would be because of Patek and Chappas. Nicely done. As one who stands a mere 5'6" myself, I always looked up to these guys. Ha Ha
nah. i basically purchased 2 really nice '86 sets (1 w/ stickers & other w/o) & cherry picked the best. I sold the other set last week on e-bay for $550, it had #1-132 & psa 7 mj rc in it.
<< <i>I've never been a big fan of the 1975 Topps set, but it's starting to grow on me just a little bit. Here are a few from my rarely-seen set. What do each of these players have in common?

Collecting PSA graded Steve Young, Marcus Allen, Bret Saberhagen and 1980s Topps Cards. Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
These cards are the CY Young winners from 1956 thru 1964, I use the following years card as that way it shows the stats. The 65 Chance is OPC and the 63 Drysdale is from a Presentation set. I also do MVP 1961 and 1962 forward, Rookie of the years 1947 and up, Fireman of the year from 1976. It is a fun way to get a different Topps card from each year.
If a player has no Topps card from that year I use whatever is available like in 1962 I use a Fleer card of Maury Wills. I also have used Bowmans for the years Topps had no production.

<< <i>Bobby, great looking '77's. I particularly like the Fred Lynn and Dale Murphy cards. >>
Thanks. I really like that year Lynn as well. I can't figure out your 80 mystery lineup.
<< <i>Sweet 77 Rose, it's my 2nd favorite Rose card right behind the 65 Topps. >>
Thank you kindly. I really like that year Rose too. I think 76 is pretty sweet as well. Of course, the 65 is awesome.
nice 86's. are those the ones you are selling?
does psa grade the playmate cards? wonder what the POP report is on those?
Thanks,

Here are some '55 Bowmans that I picked up at a card show last Sunday...
Brett, I'm drawing a blank on your latest question for now - but I'm not giving up on trying to solve it just yet!
Collecting: Topps 1952-79, Bowman 1952-55, OPC 1965-71, and Pre-War White Sox cards

Raw: Tony Gonzalez (low #'d cards, and especially 1/1's) and Steve Young.
I also picked up my first card for the '53 Bowman Color set;
and my first '52 Topps...
Finally, this is my first venture into vintage football:
Collecting: Topps 1952-79, Bowman 1952-55, OPC 1965-71, and Pre-War White Sox cards
I have many sets in raw state most notably 1952 Bowman, 1961 Topps, 1966 Topps, 1975 Topps,
1980 Topps and of course 1983 thru 1991Topps.
Donruss Fleer etc too.
My favorite is the 1966 set. I'd say it is in EX condition overall which in my opinion
is the best collector grade.
The only set I ever had graded was the 65 set which I sold off after completing.
It averaged out at 7.91 and I sold piecemeal and broke even, I had loads of fun building it
so IMO it was a wash.
I'll get a scan up of a page of my Cy Young winners set in a moment.

<< <i>I'll take a guess, they all led the league in homeruns at least once. Like I said, a guess! >>
leadoff4, you are correct. They are all former single-season home run champs, having lead or tied for the league lead. Well done.
