I got really luck on the DJ, it was listed right after he died, so I assumed it was going to go for alot more, because when someone dies cards go for crazy amounts.But because it was a one-day listing the collectors collecting this set must have missed it. I don't have that many Gold in the 2000 set because of a flawed stategy , I would always think of buying the cards at good prices and worry about the expensive cards later. Nice Russell. Overall IMO the Action Packed cards seem to do pretty well when the card is graded. I think the rounded edges do not run into the same problems as the standard cards and the thick stock holds up well to being handled. >>
Hey Art I was assuming the opposite with the Action Packed,that it would be really hard to get them in PSA 10. I don't have one graded, but when I look over the ones I have I see all these imperfections because of the way they are made like the folding in the edges and tightness of the glue. >>
Hi Mex, I have had my share of luck with them for whatever reason and as you know they really dont get much respect from most collectors so they are always available at relativly cheap prices. In my collection I have the following up with scans in PSA 8 or better Gallatin,Gola,Jeannette,Kurland,Lovelette,Luisetti,Macauley,McGuire,Martin,Ann Meyers,Murphy,Ramsey,Semjonova,Wanzer and my only PSA 10 a Dave Bing which I submitted recently and dont have a scan up yet. Incidently last year I put the hand signed Bing up on EBAY twice for sale and received Zero bids figured what the hell I'll send it into PSA/DNA and it come back Gem Mint LOL go figure. Art
Hey Art, Congrats on the Bing. I was actually thinking of the 1995 auto set, the 2003 sure does look less condition senssitive. with the 2005 also the Gold Border, adds to the imperfections. Hard to explain, but for example the 2003 cards are more flat, tight. With the 2005 I can see indentations on the edges.Like it would be easier to leave a finger nail mark on the 2005, than a 2003.

Thanks guys, I've really been enjoying this thread. My son and I have jumped in on the basketball HOF collection, not sure if we'll register it with PSA because we are not planning to only do cards. We have a Jordan 8x10, Maravich magazine photo, Alcindor Sporting News cover, etc.
Isaias (Mex1sar) has recently gotten me into certified autographs and the bug has hit very hard. I think I've purchased about 20 in the last month, nothing earth shattering but it's certainly a lot of fun. I'm hoping to add a few more tonight.
While not a hall of famer here's a photo of my son Noah with his favorite player "Chocolate Thunder", this autograph signing is what really got Noah interested and now he can't wait to see what comes in the mail each day after school.

Nice cards guys, Collecting on a personal level or for the registry is enhanced IMO by PSA/DNA it is in some instances the only way to get slabbed autographs of long forgotten HOFers and stars without depending on the Card company cuts that can range in appearance.

I think its all about the auto on that rookie card, the grade won't do nothing for it if you ask me, great just like that.
