I just had the 1974 OPC All Star Catchers graded by PSA. It's only a PSA 6 but it is the 2nd highest graded. I have never seen this card centered.
The 1984 Star Yaz Set card with Johnny Bench was just added to the master set. I have had this card for awhile but have never been able to add it to the registry until PSA recently changed it's stance on including cards a year after a player's retirement that don't include stats on the back of the card.
I will never be able to add the 1985 CBS card to the master set, however, I have always liked this card. It is very hard to find. This card has never been graded by PSA.
Kevin, More great stuff, I love the Expos MacGregor photo, never saw that one before! Did you ever have any luck getting PSA to grade the Burlington newspaper issues?

Thanks, I have not seen too many of the Expos MacGregor Perez over the years. Looks nice I think in the holder. I have not made any headway in getting the 1978 Burlington into a holder yet. Here it is for those wondering what it looks like.
From what I have noticed, PSA is very liberal in terms of grading these "cards" even when not all of the borders are present. I'm suprised that more of these don't come back as "authentic".
Here are a couple of obscure Johnny Bench items. One is a 1970's Louisville Slugger postcard with Bench and Pee Wee Reese. Pee Wee was an executive with the Hillerich & Bradsby Co. after his broadcasting career. The other item is a 1982 Borden's patch.
PSA does seem very inconsistent with respect to the Dayton cards. All of the ones I have submitted have, in my opionion, been graded properly (i.e., the ones cut inside the lines have all been "authentic" and the ones with the visible border have received a grade). I don't think I've gotten "lucky" with the Dayton's because a have never submitted just one of them at a time. Every time I have had them graded, I have sent in at least 3 or 4 (some displaying the borders and some not). As such, I think I made it a little easier on them since they had something to compare them to.
Kevin, there is also still the issue with the "white cap" vs. "dark cap" Perez variations. I know you got all of yours corrected. I can't remember when we last spoke but I know that I sent in a Perez that I had labeled as a "dark cap" on my submission form after you got all of yours corrected (probably a month or so later). Low and behold, it came back as the "white cap" variation. I wondered if I had made a mistake but I still could honestly not find anything different between that one and the "dark cap" version I already had. Did you ever gain any insight into the difference between the two. Does a "white cap" variation actually exist?
Oh well, this is a fairly obscure issue and I understand that it can be difficult for them sometimes. I'm happy to have all of the ones I have even if they are just labeled as "authentic".
I love that Burlington Newspaper Perez by the way. I was not aware of that issue and have definitely never seen one before.

I have been wondering what happened with the White cap variation all of a sudden popping up after I had mine all relabled. I would love to see a scan to compare against my versions. I have not seen any variation that I can detect in the caps of the 8 to 10 I have seen.
Here is a tough item that I forgot that I had. It is a 1971 Johnny Bench record album. I didn't realize until just recently that it even contained the original 9 1/2 by 12 inch photo insert inside in Near Mint shape. Probably not too many of these still around.
Here is a recent submission that I received. I definitely do not have a good eye in terms of the peforated Milton Bradley cards. I have a 1972 PSA 7 Seaver and the cards I submitted looked at least as good if not better. I thought the Morgan was the worst of the bunch and it ended up grading the highest. hahaha. I was just glad to get the Bench slabbed as it is the first ever graded. I also bought a 1984 Nestle Highlight card graded GAI 9 which I broke open and crossed over perfectly. First one graded by PSA.

I was wondering if any of you Reds fans remembers a player named "Grady Hatton"?! He played for Cincy from '46 thru '53 according to Baseball.Reference.com.
I just picked this blank-banked Exhibit card up today at an antique show in Portland, OR...
Love the 66 Perez PSA 9, tough card. Phil more nice additions to the Bench collection. I went ahead and grabbed the Perez snapshot from the same seller
I am also happy to add another autographed Reds rookie to the collection
I know that these are not widely collected but I have always liked the Reds team issued rulers from 1967-1980. I'm still looking for 1974, 1975, and 1980 to complete my collection.
I have those rulers as well and also do not have the 1974 or 1975. I don't remember seeing one and was not sure if they existed. Do you know if they did make the rulers those years? Anybody else have a 74 or 75?
I love that Topps Banquet card. Here is a photo I picked up tonight. It is from 1964, Perez's rookie year. It has Frank Robinson and Perez on the plane ramp.
I attended the Moeller High Show in Cincinnati over the weekend. It was the first show I have attended in about 10 and I was able to pick up a couple of nice Reds items. The first is a 1968(?) Team Issued Cincinnati Reds Photo Set. These photos are 5X7 and appear to be basically the same image that is depicted on the team issued 8X10's from the same year. All of the cards/photos in this set have a glossy finish (NOT like the Photo Pack Cards). The set I purchased contained a total of 30 photos. I'm curious as to whether anyone knows anything about these (see scans of Bench, Rose and Perez below).

I also picked up the Team Issued Joe Morgan Postcard/Photo. This one is the standard Postcard size. Does anyone know what year this one is from? Thanks!

Nice images, I have not seen the team issue items in the 5x7 size. Nor have I seen that particular Perez image in the regular 8 x 10 size. Nice pickups.
Great job getting those. I have never seen that set before. It would appear that the set is from 1969. That image of Johhny Bench appears on both the 1969 8 by 10 team issue photos as well as the 1969 team issue postcards.
The set of photos are 1969 issue and came from the family of Gordy Coleman who sold them to Sports Investments in Cincinnati. I purchased the set on eBay and found the Pete Rose had a smudge mark on the right side of the photo. The set was then traded in a deal to Mark Reed of West Virginia last fall who coincidentally was set up at the Moeller Show this past weekend. By chance did you purchase the 64-65 Reds post card set which I traded to Mark on Friday night in another deal. This set is missing the 64-65 Pete Rose postcard since it is now in my Rose PSA Master Set. This set also came from the Gordy Coleman family. I would contact Mark Reed to determine the availability of this set. It included a magnificent group of 60's Reds post cards.
Thanks for the information on the '69 set. It is definitely a unique photo set. Mark showed me that 64-65 set but when I talked to him, he hadn't decided whether or not he wanted to part with them. It's funny, while talking to him, he mentioned that he sold/traded you a Partridge Rose slide and viewer that he had purchased from me a few months ago. Definitely a small world of Reds collectors.

The holder that it's in isn't in the greatest shape. There are a few blemishes on the front that show up the most on Robinson's sleeve.
