    Robert,

I'd love to organize the Hockey break but I'm not sure we'd have 36 takers as some of the 80's boxes will be quite costly. 80, 85 & 86 will be killers.

Maybe AJW will let us know what he came up with for cost per person on the hockey.

I would enjoy seeing the Hockey guys rip and post!

I would imagine you could get an idea by going to BBCExchange and seeing what the cost would be.

I would imagine - if you could get 12 people - e.g. - that would allow 3 packs per person?

Anyway, good luck icemen! And keep in mind - one of favorite plays is "The Iceman Cometh"

    Your's too?! image

My second card-collecting life started in 1981 so I missed out on the 1980 set and the Rickey RC...and I would still love to find one in a pack.

Guys, I'm going to order the boxes today, but I'm still waiting for quite a few people to pay. Please let me know if you've decided not to participate, as we have others that are willing to pinch hit. Please let me know if you think you've paid but there is not a "PAID" note by your name in the first post of this thread.

    AJW

your check was mailed out this morning just before 0630 as promised. Shouldn't take long to find it's way to you from here in Ohio.

    Zef....

    what would that cost approximately?

Guys, I just paid for all of our boxes. Steve from BBC Exchange has been awesome, and he thinks what we're doing is a great idea. (He gave us a great deal on the boxes, too!)

The cards should be to my place early next week, and I'll try to turn them around as fast as possible. Of course, I'm hoping that everyone will get their PayPal in before then, hopefully in the next day or two. I've updated the first post in this thread with everyone that's paid, so please check to make sure your status is correct.

Oh, one more thing. I asked Steve for a quote on the hockey boxes, and he said he'll get back to us after he's had a chance to figure it out. He's out of town for a few days, so we'll get an answer after that. (I don't know if you guys want OPC, Topps or a mix, as I'm not a hockey guy at all...)

BBCE doesn't have a 76 box, but the cost for 75(mini's),77,78 and 79 would be about $90 a man if we could get 36 guys.

$90 for a pack of 75 Minis, pack of 77s, 78s & 79s? Hmm...I'd be REALLY tempted....especially since I would pull a Brett and Yount rookie in the same pack along with a perfect '77 Dawson rookie and then my '78 pack would have a Murray rookie and the Trammel/Molitor card as well. Plus, that '79 pack is going to have my Ozzie Smith rookie. Wow, that might be worth it image

I'm up for the Donruss or Fleer packs for sure....depending on the cost, I might be interested in the hockey as well.

You've GOT to be kidding! Nice price. That would obviously include the infamous box of '84 Donruss.

What's the hottest '80s Fleer year? I guess that would have to be the '85 set with the Puckett rookie and...who's the other guy...Roger Clemens? The '82 Fleers are notoriously bad for tilts in my recollection -- that provides a shot at a Ripken rookie.

But, in the meantime, I'm looking forward to a Topps rippin' time!

Hey guys, I'm still about ten payments short. I know of one that's coming through the mail, but PayPal is way easier. We won't be able to start the ripping until we've all got our packs, so any delay will set us all back.

Again, it's $27 to me via PayPal at A_W__@hotmail.com (that's A underscore W underscore underscore).

    Any questions?

Guys, I am still missing payment from three people. ToppsCo1lector, Buccaneer and Spahnfan, I really need your payment in the next 24 hours. If you have changed your mind and don't want to participate, that's fine, but please let me know. If I don't hear from you by Monday morning, I will offer your spots to other board members that have shown interest. No hard feelings, but I really need all the money by Monday, as I'm expecting the cards to be delivered then. I sent each of you private messages with the payment details. Thanks in advance for taking care of this, guys.

For everyone else, thanks for getting your payment in. I hope to have the packs sent out by mid to late next week!
