<< <i>That's another nice pickup, Alan! You are going to have an amazing set when you are done.
Chris >>
Thanks Chris! I also picked (private sale) a PSA 7 #23 Bobby Doerr, a PSA 7 #9 Ferris Fain, a PSA 7 #94 Mickey Vernon (R), a PSA 7 #127 Henry Majeski and a PSA 7 #201 Sibbi Sisti.
Frank Howard - 1960 NL ROY The 6'7", 245 lb outfielder started his career with a bang... 23 hrs, 77 rbi, .268 avg, giving baseball a brief glimpse of what was yet to come.
Chris Chambliss - 1971 AL ROY A good rookie season in a thin rookie crop. Batted .275 with 114 hits, 20 doubles, 4 triples, and 9 hrs.
Chuck Knoblauch - 1991 AL ROY A solid rookie season (.281 avg, 159 hits, 25 sb) and a solid post season performance. Capped off his rookie season with a World Series ring.
do they make the full size a&g with autos? i didn't even realize A&G made full size cards...i dont care for the border on the minis, and so have stayed away from that set, but that card looks nice!
Ken Hubbs - 1962 NL ROY Flashy glove work at 2nd base earned him a Gold Glove in his rookie year, setting a record with consecutive games w/o an error (78). His potential was cut short when he tragicly died in a plane crash in February of 64. (68/32 l/r centering is the only thing keeping this card out of a PSA 10 slab. Under 10x magnification the corners and edges are PERFECT, wow)
Mike Hargrove - 1974 AL ROY Lead the rookie pack in 1974 with a .323 avg, and a .395 obp.
My number one, no question about it, most exciting pick-ups so far! ALL SEVENS!!!
My fiancee signed for them this afternoon! And my GPA is oficially over 5! I was shooting for 5 overall. And ANOTHER MILESTONE.... I'm now 25% done my first set ever!
Doerr is a HOF'er and the Vernon is his RC. VERY EXCITING!!!
<< <i>Those are very nice looking '49 Bowmans. The color on the PSA 7s is very bold. I like them. Here are some cards that I received this week]
Thanks man! And just when I thought I had some nice pick-ups... you show up with those beauties!! VERY NICE!!! I love the Ruth! That 4 presents well for the grade!
I made a nice addition to my Hall of Fame rookie collection:
And, another addition to the ROY set... Gary Peters - 1963 AL ROY Had an outstanding rookie season with a 19 - 8 record, 189 strikeouts, and a league leading 2.33 era. He wasn't too shabby with the bat either, hitting .259 with 3 hr and 12 rbi.
I feel sorry for LMM - I know you need something else from Emmitt...I probably have it, dear. Haven't even started selling stuff on ebay yet, but I see how desperate LMM is.....thank you VERY much.

That gets me to 100% on the set. Only one PSA 7 to upgrade to have an all 8, 9, 10 set. Pretty stoked about finally completing this one.
Should be a fun set to put together. Still have the big dogs to go.
halosfan - Congrats on completing the set! How long did it take?

I really like those 75 minis. I couldn't resist the A & G Howard in PSA 10 for $6.00. Looks good with my set.
Gocats: That is a cool City All Stars card! You should be proud.
