Interesting Costco feature. Once I order, they send it to our local store for pick-up. They send an email once it's received (3-4 days) and I have 7-10 days to pick it up... after that they cancel the order and issue a refund.

why not just have it delivered to your door?

Some people don't want anything coin/PM related coming to their house.
When I have played "part-time dealer" the last year and a half, I have 1 guy that has bought gold from me, and chatted with him quite a bit, tell me that he doesn't want anything coming to his house that he doesn't bring in himself. He wants to keep the lowest profile he can.

a sealed box arriving from Costco is not going to raise one's profile.

@pragmaticgoat - WOW! You are 100% correct! My mistake.

I saw the price on a list I made on my Costco app and did not see the $150 off special.
I see it now when I logged on from my computer. I missed it but will be keeping on eye on it.

Edited to add - I believe Costco made this special deal in error on the GML and most likely will be corrected.
The $150 off deal is supposed to be for jewelry items.

Spend $999 or more on qualifying Jewelry items and save $150 OFF of your order at checkout. Valid 4/23/24 through 5/8/24. Online-Only. Limit 1 redemption per membership. Purchase of Qualifying Items must be in one transaction; total is calculated before taxes, fees and shipping, and after any other coupons, discounts, and offers.

Made it into town this afternoon and mingled for a bit with the city chickens. Hit the Costco for some bulk staples. No metals for sale at my location. Will try again in another month or so. Those Canadian gutter bars would have been good to see. RGDS!

I inquired about the RCM 10oz. silver bars at my local Costco yesterday and they were able to point me to 3 local locations getting them in today. The location I went to received 30 and had only a couple left after my purchase. It's been a while since I've purchased silver, not bad for $27.84 an oz. They come individually packaged In a nice quality box.

    sweet

    and 4 9's too

but now there are details that generate questions:
are the bars loose in that box?(the box appears to be very over-sized)
are they simply loosely inside some semi-soft clear plastic? or is it a rigid tray with plastic film over it?

    @MsMorrisine
The bars come in the original sealed mint packaging which is a fairly thick rubbery feeling plastic.
They are put in a 4 in. x 4 in. x 1.75 in. box that is lined with a soft material. (Yes, a bit oversized)
The bars can only be placed in the box one way due to the box hinge. The bar is fairly tight in
the box but can still move minimally. If damage happening to the bars is of concern, I see no way
damage can occur because of the thick rubbery packaging and box they are in. I've attached a
few more photos, hope they help!

    hmm

odd packaging. i'd be concerned about pvc in the plastic, but if you take it out it won't fit in the box and people will start questioning the bar.

are some soft plastics pvc free?

    I think you are correct.
I sniffed the plastic which is soft and it smells like slip covers.
I’m going to free it today!

@MsMorrisine, @lcoopie - I couldn't tell you if pvc exists or not, but I believe a hole in the packaging
would cause a tarnishing problem. I went through some others I have and only 3 had tarnish due to
a hole/crack in the packaging, and 2 of them were minor. I've had these for at least 6-7+ years.

    No holes... no problems IMO.

That's the Royal Mint packaging that seals the bar. I have these since they started selling them, no affect on the bar.

The RCM bars are without question, the best bullion bargain at COSTCO. If you get the 2% Executive member rebate and another 2% COSTCO Citi Card rebate you get these premium bars below spot.

Front door dude, at my closest Costco, was handing out paper with the info on the gold bars. Didn't see them IN the jewelry section themselves, but he said it could be scanned at the checkout and they would bring it out to you (like they do with stamps and a few other things).

Just the bars, from what I saw, at the moment though.

I asked my local Costco about the gold and silver and he said that they would not be getting any in store - that it would be online sales only for our region - including the greater metro Houston area. That sounded crazy to me. They should definitely carry stock at the River Oaks store downtown if nothing else.

Great price for a stacker, but for a flipper it may not pan out. Not sure about the coin stores in your area, but mine have dropped their buy prices to $50 back on Eagles.
