One of my all-time favorite series.
Post your Indian Head Cents!
This is the coin that really started it all for me:
I will most likely do the entire set. I would like to have everything MS63 or higher…
It should be fun.

The above pictured, and this are the only two that I have for the set so far…

I’ve previously posted my “Unique” Indian Head Cent set here. It’s not unique because it’s currently ranked #6, but is unique because, according to Rick Snow, it’s the only set ever put together where EVERY coin merits both a CAC sticker and an Eagle Eye Photo Seal.
Is that redundant? Absolutely! But I’ve learned that John Albanese (CAC) and Rick Snow each place different weightings on various factors, such as strike, carbon spots, etc. As such, there are coins with CAC stickers that Rick will not sticker, and there are coins with Rick’s Photo Seal that J.A. will not sticker. As such, I feel that having both stickers on each coin is having the best of both worlds.
Every coin in the set is GEM (MS65 or better), and all of the Bronze cents (1864 and later) are RB or RD. 56% of the coins have a PLUS grade.
Here’s a hotlink to the set. If you click on any photo, you can then easily move/scroll to the other photos in chronological order. Each coin has at least three photos.

That's an excellant start Ashland, enjoy 😉
@asheland, great start on your IHC collection. As you know, I’ve just recently started putting my set together too. Posted previously in another thread……
I only have one, but have always admired the series. I prefer the early CN coins over the bronze, although toned bronze proofs can be very attractive.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
I only have one, a proof, as an exemplar for the series:
I have only 1 Indian head cent.

Proof 64 Rattler J-228
It’s becoming quite the rumor that the J-228 will become recognized as a regular issue alongside the Laurel Reverse 1859 cent. I hope so, because then the proof will follow, along with its high R-6 rarity.

All of these Indians are wonderful, but just had to single out your '66, what a beauty!
Thank you! 👍

These two I have, but are not considered part of my set:
I’m keeping them, a proof is cool to have, and the 77, I’ll have two…

This one would also fall under the “regret selling” category. Beautiful toning & close to flawless. The 3* rated 1874 S-1. 65RB.

I know snow is pushing that but I doubt it as they are simply not known circulated. I get it the story has that a dealer bought the entire emission but it is as likely to be a moonlight concoction from the 1870s like so many others as anything else. I had thought that they were all BS and some were just mislabeled a proof but yours is better struck than most. Here is mine flashy semi PL example
11.5$ Southern Dollars, The little “Big Easy” set
The 1865 and 1897 are 64RB and 65RB, but to my eye look as good as many red coins. The 1906 is PR64RD with "CAM-ish" devices.
Here are a few I have in the back of the box

This one was….(drum roll) Stewart Blay’s! A toner! Who knew? Just won this in the GC auction. It’s a beautiful 5* variety with more detail than one usually sees for this date.
