Well another cup of coffee going and surprise surprise. Another of the same fake 1881cc slab/coin. The seller went out of their way to hide cert and intentionally blurry photos which leads me to believe they know. I reported. Please help report.

He also cited a good cert; a little more ingenious that the others I sent him a couple of messages but heard crickets. The cert he cited happens to be for sale as well...

Yes these guys ABSOLUTELY know they are selling fakes. It is just Neverending and I mostly just look at carson city Morgan's.

Thank you again. I’m looking at CC coinage right now and it’s very helpful to be able to have access to this thread and your outstanding work. When I find a CC I can afford and there’s any questions I will not hesitate to come to you for help. Thanks you Jzyskowski and the gang 🙀😸😻🦫
There are many permutations of counterfeit slabs - real coins in fake plastic, fake coins in fake plastic and fake coins in real plastic. Here are a few examples from the South Carolina Numismatic Association display at the recent Greenville, SC show. The club maintains an extensive collection of fakes for education purposes.
Is there any knowledge as to the disposition of the counterfeits? Are they still floating around or have any been removed from population? Just curious.

This is some very interesting stuff. In some cases these appear obvious if you know what you are looking for (some are just blatantly bogus) but in other cases they would fool even a seasoned collector. @PCGS_Moderator - It is great that PCGS is setting up an email but I would prefer a submission form process that would confirm if it was already submitted. This would prevent users from duplicating their efforts and prevent PCGS from being flooded with a particular submission.
I wonder if there are similar efforts for the other services as well.
Stamp out those bad apples that are ruining the experience for dedicated collectors!

Hey that could be added to my #3. See link below.

The images we see on some cert lookups are PCGS TrueView's which is a paid service by the submitter. Otherwise, there will be no images posted. I am not sure if PCGS takes a photo of every coin that they certify but highly doubt it.

TrueView images are an add-on service (unless it's a gold shield submission) which is why some do not have images in cert verify. The images could also simply not be ready at the time they checked.
Please remember, I don't have access to the actual orders to verify the holder/label associated with the coin.

So he has to call customer service to get an answer to his question?
They don't have to call, but the quickest way to find the answer would be to call or email at the link provided.
This got worse; many compromised certs?
Thank you for the response @PCGS_Moderator .
The images we see on some cert lookups are PCGS TrueView's which is a paid service by the submitter. Otherwise, there will be no images posted. I am not sure if PCGS takes a photo of every coin that they certify but highly doubt it.
