Not sure if anyone has seen this one yet but this coin was posted in one of the Facebook pre-33 gold groups I’m in. Cert number is still valid, the coin is the wrong mint mark and a very laughable counterfeit. I only saw these pictures, but they said the listing has already been pulled from eBay.

some extremely bad quality there. glad to see some of them are getting worse and not better.
i have enough just in my database to do a few more groups before having to go out and find more.
i'll make ya a deal. if you compile ALL the certs in this thread, except for the ones i've posted, i'll compile all of mine so you can just copy/paste to put into the OP.
for my part, i don't care if they are organized, just together so i can do a page search to see if a cert has already been reported to this thread. as we proceed, some sort of system will need to be implemented but simplicity is the key, for everyone.
with each new group, i'll post the cert numbers in text, so they can be copy/pasted to the op.
whaddya think?
to add: posting to something like excel and then just uploading an image unfortunately does not permit for a page search and in the even that is the way you go, they will need to be listed numerically for efficiency.
I actually showed this one in a meeting with Staffers of the Senate Finance Committee discussing counterfeit holders, trademarks and counterfeit coins in DC with Beth Deisher back in 2019. Beth used this image in her 4th edition of "Cash In Your Coins" with an expanded counterfeit section.
Holder cracked when I dropped it…
ok. i've got another big group (spread out over a few/several posts) that will be ready soon but i will wait to do much more work until the OP tracking cert info is updated again. i already found 1 duplicate i've posted and will try to not do so again, not that it is a big deal.
if you would please consider posting also JUST the text (it doesn't have to look pretty) from the spreadsheet below that image in the OP, i'd certainly appreciate the consideration. i can go significantly faster if i can just do a page cert for whatever current cert i'm working on while the image doesn't permit such a think and it seems you are keeping that in an order of when the coins are added to the thread. thanks a mil.
if you get some copy/paste problems from the spreadsheet to the post, if you decide to do it, you can paste into notepad first as that strips away any funny coding/formatting stuff.
Planning on this being my last post on this thread; good luck to all with the increasing number of bad coins and bad PCGS holders!
glad i saw this post. i was ONLY planning on doing this tandem with someone and with a tracking list to prevent inefficiency.
have you accomplished what you set out to do? perhaps the lack of others efforts being disheartening? or do you have some other plans as i doubt your "fight the counterfeits" bug is going away any time soon.
I will continue the fight @LanceNewmanOCC and appreciate your help on this. Just don't feel we really have the host's support on this and it is getting very large to manage. Seems like an epidemic at this point but I am supported in a number of other forums to get the message out.

if you have one or two master threads that are active and organized, feel free to share a link(s) here as i do have accounts on several other forums even if i am not active on them.

Unfortunate this post can't be pinned for easier access...
I did put it in one of my Resources request and it was added. So while not individually pinned, it is in the Resources thread that is pinned to the top of the US Forum.
Question? Are these from sellers with low to no feedback?
Ive been buying from sellers that have 1000's of feedback that deal in only numismatics. I check cert and compare, verify real plastic, compare coin to others of same grade.
Im hoping the good sellers would have less chance of a fake.

Thanks for the contribution @LanceNewmanOCC !

np.
i'll probably do a lot more once some tracking system is in place for us to check what has already been submitted.
I have and continue to learn so much, thanks to this project. Peace Roy

That's what my update-able list at the beginning of this thread is! Just haven't had the time for recent updates...
nice and thanks.
I can email you the last copy!
@LanceNewmanOCC I posted another bad 199-S VDB at https://forums.collectors.com/discussion/comment/13403068#Comment_13403068
thanks for the offer. i can wait for the OP to be updated. the size of the list isn't terribly unmanageable, YET.

Latest Bay version 1883-CC and different cert # than I had previously documented. Cert appears to be inactive.
Uses the common reverse of the fake 1881-CC's:
